John Kerry: "Life begins at conception, but I support abortion."

This is as dumb as Lincoln saying "I believe blacks are equal, but I still support slavery".

swoop 07-31-2004 10:41 AM

He likes to cover both sides, get used to it :)

Marcus Aurelius 07-31-2004 10:42 AM

I am not on the issue too much, but thats good for business so drop it? Interesting concepts you have if indeed life does begin at conception. Kill babies? Sure... As long as my wallet gets fatter.

candyflip 07-31-2004 10:45 AM

He can't believe that life begins at conception and support a women's right to choose?

iFliPcEss 07-31-2004 10:46 AM

he doesn't really know what he wants, lol

If he feels a life exists, he is also condemning it to death. What do you think happens in an abortion dude? The fetus is pulled out, given 5 bucks, and then walks out of the clinic?

If a president recognizes something as life, or deserving of rights, he should have the balls to defend those rights.

candyflip 07-31-2004 10:51 AM

Being Pro-Choice does not always mean that someone is Pro-Abortion :thumbsup

Ok ... the day you will put your girl pregnant and you will want abortion, you will be happy it is legal .

But It's still somebody ... but what would be that person without a good family / money .

Sometimes it's better off like that .

detoxed 07-31-2004 10:56 AM

Umm no its not the same thing....
its the same thing as saying that guy is alive, but i want to kill him.
Go for it :thumbsup

And as far as Lincoln saying that ...

If you got 50 slaves working for you in your house, will you want things to change ???

You are putting words in his mouth, starting to sound like Michael Moore.... he never said just because life begins at conception that it deserves rights. I'll get the vaccuum cleaner, spead your legs babe

So, using his own logic, he supports the personal choice to commit murder.

DarkJedi 07-31-2004 11:02 AM

Next, Kerry would say

"I support military action to rid Saddam and to search for WMDs, but I'm opposed to the war"

Kerry: "Life begins at conception"

Abortion takes a life and therefore is murder.

i think that both canditates are idiots.

Trixie 07-31-2004 11:09 AM

I was kind of annoyed by his seemingly contradictory statements on abortion, but really -- it IS a complex issue. Part of our political problems stem from trying to make every issue black and white, right or wrong, when with something like abortion -- there are varying shades of grey.

One CAN feel abortion is wrong, but intellectualize that it's too complicated to force that opinion on other people. Acknowledging that life begins at conception doesn't mean abortion is "murder" -- plants are alive, but we don't call it "murder" when we eat a salad.

There are many people who would never get an abortion themselves but know it's wrong to take that choice away from other people. It might be refreshing for a lot of people to hear Kerry have a seemingly "conflicting" opinion, similar to their own.

You don't exactly kill babies, dr. Fuckhead...
Bush is against abortion but doesn't have any problem with executing mentally ill people, real criminals and Iraqi civilians (including babies..). Flip-Flop Dubya!

more abortions the better off we are.

this country needs less people.

make abortiones cheaper and safer.

mandatory abortions for people who do not meet crieria for being ALLOWED to bring a life into this wor.ld.

Paul Waters 07-31-2004 12:22 PM

Life does not begin....

...the sperm is alive, the ovum is alive.....

Learn some biology people!

NevDull 07-31-2004 12:23 PM

There is such a thing as believing that something is wrong, but not believing that the government should make it illegal.

Mr.Fiction 07-31-2004 12:30 PM

Your quote is not accurate. Kerry does not "support abortion" - he supports freedom for people to disagree and freedom for women to make their own choices about when abortion is appropriate.

He is pro-choice but he personally does not agree with abortion.

Isn't this exactly how Libertaians say government should be?

Just because Kerry has a personal belief about a complex issue does not mean he will try to make that the law.

Do you want a president who enforces his personal beliefs on you?

Kerry supports personal freedom. If you don't like it, support Bush. :1orglaugh

SL|M! 07-31-2004 01:05 PM

No matter what u think about abortion, Govt has no right to stick its nose on what u should do with your body. They should stick to fixing healtcare and Iraq

Tom_PMs 07-31-2004 01:13 PM

Yeah this is simple, but people who want to, will find flaws in anything :)

I also believe that life begins when the egg has enough information to divide. Thats life for you.

However, it's my position that a woman should decide if she wants to carry a baby full term.

Oh look! Is that a flip flop? Hardly. lol :1orglaugh

It has nothing to do with idiots , one candidate has a religious agenda to end what you do for a living. wake the fuck up

hydro 07-31-2004 01:18 PM

sluts will always be sluts and theres nothing you can do to change that. They should have used a condom but didnt or maybe it was just an accident. Either way if they don't want to have a baby then they probably wouldn't make good mothers. Maybe thats why we see so many problems with kids these days.

CamChicks 07-31-2004 01:19 PM

get real,
Kerry, Clinton, and most of the democrats, are secularists ... but in order to get elected in this country you have to fake faith and pretend to see the logic in religious arguements. However, once in office, they try to move us as far ahead of the chistrian agenda as they can get away with. So, "don't hate the playa, hate the game".

politicians have to appease.

just a fact.

democrats are overwhelmingly pro choice but the pro choice crowd only represents 1/2 the voters.
