I don't think I want any more "friends" in this business.

To me, a friend is somebody you trust. Somebody who will not stab you in the back or create some sort of negative vibe around your name. Somebody who will always be there for you and you for them.

It seems that occasionally some of the people in this business, who I usually greatly respect and value my friendships with, decide to do the very things that represent anything but friendship.

In this industry, we tend to mix business with pleasure. Perhaps that contributes to this problem.

quiet may very well have the right idea.

NickPapageorgio 07-30-2004 12:41 PM

I will be your friend Aaron. We both have bald heads. Hell we're practically brothers. High five bro...:thumbsup

Sly_RJ 07-30-2004 12:41 PM

I'm 95% confident that friends suck 95% of the time.

WHAT IF?
© Claire

Friends tell you their secrets
Friends are meant to share
Friends are meant to cheer you up,
What happens when theyÂ?re not there?

Is it hard when you donÂ?t have
Someone to lean upon?
When you need a friend to care,
but they, your friends, have gone?

What if you were split
Up from your best friend?
Do you think youÂ?d care
If your friendship ends?

Would you slowly drift apart,
Go in separate ways?
Or would you both grow closer
Grow closer day by day?

What if your friends started
Saying things behind your back?
Would you stand and face them,
Or would your courage lack?

Perhaps it would be safer
To let your friendships mend,
Push these thoughts behind you,
And make the questions end.

maybe the definition of friend just needs to be redefined or reinforced...

I find a lot of people confuse the term acquiantence with friend...

someone you share a few drinks with, a common interest or two, a few biz ventures, does by NO MEANS make them a 'friend' imo...

takes some loyalty, time, etc to earn that friend badge...people throw the word around all too cheaply these days...

Babagirls 07-30-2004 12:47 PM

i've just recently learned the lesson of having only a *very* select few "friends" online from this biz.

usually the people who create bullshit are the ones that dont have a life offline or know what a life offline is.

ytcracker 07-30-2004 12:47 PM

i really dont know if i have any friends

my life is a lonely one

Women have that problem. Have you ever heard a woman talk about her "friends"? It's funny as shit. They consider a "friend" to be anybody they get along with, at that minute second in time.

I don't do that. I'm very picky about who I consider "friends" because frankly I'm not about crazy about a lot of people, haha. I'll get along with anyone and talk with anyone, but the list of people that I think about often is pretty slim. However, the people on that list really make me shake my head sometimes and ask myself "why".

WicKed NinJas 07-30-2004 12:52 PM

thats why I only consider people associates unless I know you in some other way then online.

So no one told you life was gonna be this way
Your job's a joke, you're broke, your love life's D.O.A.
It's like you're always stuck in second gear
When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year, but...

I'll be there for you
When the rain starts to pour
I'll be there for you
Like I've been there before
I'll be there for you
'Cause you're there for me too

Aaron

Don't trust anyone. Nobody really cares about you, everyone is out for themselves.

When shit hits the fan its funny how everyone disappears or kicks you when you?re down.

The only people you can really trust are your Parents and maybe siblings.

Keep your enemies close but your friends closer.
Friends are the ones who normally fuck you and your girl
:winkwink:

Just because I wouldn't kiss you for a dollar, let's not get all salty.

But really.

You're one of the few people out there I consider a friend, though we don't talk or hang often enough since you live in the sticks. And you're the only guest that can show up at my door unannounced, as you do from time to time. Anyway, the people who don't hit you up for anything are using the real friends.

my dad told me this long long ago. people throw the word 'friend' around way too liberally. you are lucky to have at most 3 true friends outside of your family if u have a close family. the rest are associates, buddies, the guys/girls - their world would stop for about 30 seconds if you got run over by a bus, seen it many times.

Fletch XXX 07-30-2004 02:08 PM

some of my most painful moments in life have been caused by friends, the closet of whom have gotten to know me.

and they are now enemies.

i am strictly speaking offline-offboard shit.

the knife in the back has always been driven into me by those the closest to me.

BradM 07-30-2004 02:08 PM

:glugglug

I have a hard time trusting people in this industry.

mindoza 07-30-2004 02:10 PM

It is true. if you have 2 true friends you should consider yourself lucky...Atleast this is what my mom tells me everytime a "friend" betrays me..it is a horible thing! However, there are a lot of great people out there and as i aged i find I have a much better judge of caracter so it happens less and less.

I think there are just too many me me me selffish selfcentered peeps out there!
