The next James Bond, who will it be?
The Hunt is on for the next Top British Secret Service.
Speculation surrounds Brits Clive Owen, Ioan Gruffudd, Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Gerard Butler, Jude Law and Ewan McGregor, as well as Aussies Hugh Jackman, Heath Ledger and Eric Bana. ---------------------------------- NEW YORK (AP) -- Pierce Brosnan appears to be turning in his license to kill, says Entertainment Weekly. "That's it," Brosnan told EW.com. "I've said all I've got to say on the world of James Bond." Wednesday, July 28, 2004 Posted: 10:13 AM EDT (1413 GMT) ---cnn.com |
heh, Hugh Grant , why not Rowan Atkinson while we are at it :1orglaugh

Hugh Jackman would be the most obvious choice, but he's not british. gotta keep 007 british.

some criteria for the selection process:
An actor playing James Bond must be a certain type. Here is a capsule description of Ian Fleming's literary Bond: 6'2" tall, 167 pounds, slim build, blue eyes, black hair, scar down right cheek, straight nose, cruel mouth, firm jawline, flecks of grey hair, tanned. For the role, an English accent, humor, athleticism and acting ability are all a plus. |
I don't think that any of the actors in the list at the top are quite right for the job.
Brosnon fit the roll perfectly. Next to connery he was probably the best fit for the roll ever. There is a reason why there have only been 5 james bond's and why three of them sucked. Crowe couldn't pull it off, Grant just looks like an ass, and the rest are too young. Though, out of the list posted, I think Owen is the best choice.... Maybe if enough people complain, Brosnon will stick around for one more movie..... |

definitely, he's mentally uncapable to continue the saga |

...McGregor admits he's heard a murmur that he would be a good candidate to play James Bond when Pierce Brosnan retires. "I don't want to hypothesize as to what I might do if the offer came. I'd have to wait until they actually approached me. I went through the same kind of angst and decision-making when George Lucas came to me for Star Wars. I think playing Bond would be an even greater commitment. They turn them out closer together than George does the Star Wars films and it appears to me that Pierce spends as much time promoting those films as he does making them." |

Ewan McGregor reminds me of Timothy Dalton ... :(
not very smooth... for a 007.... i'd say maybe Colin Farell ... but he's been in the tabloids too much lately i guess.. |
Jude Law
this guy can play anything There's a nasty rumor that Orlando Bloom will be playing a young James Bond in a possible "hey, where did James Bond come from" kind off movie... blech |
I think Hugh Jackman would make a good Bond

How about Collin Farrell or Christian Bale?
tale of the two: Christian Bale, born 1974, a Welshman. Former child actor. Looks great in designer suits, and certainly has a license to kill (see American Psycho). Colin Farrell, born 1976, an Irishman. A public-relations disaster. He's quite funny (unintentionally) on Ballykissangel, down on the farm, with the pigs, or leading that horse around. |
