Which will come first: a woman president or a black president?
Seriously, do you think the U.S. will see a woman as president or a black man as president first? (Or a black woman?)
Personally I think we'll see a woman president first (Hillary). |
I bet will all be long dead before we see a woman or a black president :2 cents:
|
Well hmmmm... Why just black or a woman? What about other ethnicities, spanish decent for example?

I wish Powell had the balls to run for office... C. Powell and Mccain would be a great ticket.

A Colin Powell could be elected before a Hillary Clinton.:2 cents:

a woman or a hispanic...this country is too prejudiced against blacks to elect a black president in the forseeable future...
|
according to the 2003 census:
% of the population that is female = 50.9% % of the population that is black = 12.3% probably the best general answer, without specifically taking into account any particular nominated individuals. |
Powell as president? He might be able to get elected but he hasnt done shit under Bush, and he has travelled and met less foreign leaders than anyone in his job during the last 30 years.

I think we will see a black president first personally. There have been african americans who have been highly decorated in the millitary, when have you heard of a woman war hero? Not very often. I think that most people would feel safer with a man in office because of a wartime situation. :2 cents:

Probablly I mean we haven't seen any sign till alan keys or hillary:2 cents: |
Interesting q -- I think we'll have a black man as president before we ever see a woman in the oval office. Either way women and minorities will have more of a chance running on the republican ticket though. Colin could have won.

I'm sure there are plenty of surveys/polls out there that have gone over this question. :2 cents:

Heehee. I was gonna follow my woman president question with this.
I think the only one that would have a chance in our country's current environment would be Collin Powell. Jessie Jackson would not get past the GOB network and Al Sharpton although he has come forward millions of miles will still be seen as the clown knocked 5 feet on his ass on the Morton Downy Jr. show.:glugglug |
Colin Powell vs. Hillary Clinton would definitely be one hell of a matchup. :thumbsup

I think Colin didn't want to run for president because he was afraid of being assasinated. I truly think that there would be an assasination attempt to the first black president. I am not saying that because i want to be ignorant but if you really think about it, the chances are very high. :2 cents:

I would have supported Powell in the past but he has been such a mindless automaton under the Bush administration. He should have resigned in protest over Bush's insistance that we go to war in Iraq. Since he didn't, he has shown that he is in fact a non-leader and spineless follower. I know several other people who feel this way also.
The more prominent bet is on Hillary who is being groomed to run either in 4 years or 8 years, depending on if Kerry wins or not. I don't know that she can win but I'm sure she'll have a good chance...I mean who are the Reps gonna put forth? Dick Cheney? BTW everybody ...get that jackass outta office before we all see our livelyhoods demolished. http://www.bushorbush.com |
Woman probably
|
Black man then a woman.
JMO, but if Bush picks a women VP to replace our 'dead functioning' VP then it might be a women. :) |

But seriously, which woman would Bush even consider for the job? That just seems ludacris. |
