I was offered 55,000 today to leave my job
 

ive over ten years service , they want to get redundancies , they offered me 55,000 plus ... 4 weeks pay per year ive worked there , plus a tax free pension payment and a full pension when i reach 60 .........

what would you do :)

im thinking in total it would work out at about 100g .. im still not sure though as our work market is a bit dried up for decent jobs at the moment and i got to look after the missus and the mortgage lol

I duno where you work, but all in all if they are offering you money to leave, I can't imagine you having a long future there. Or is it a retirement thing?

Seriously.. if they want to get rid of people.. they will.. one way or the other.

With 50k to invest in this business and some good know how you could easily be making more then you are at that place in no time.

Some people can't handle not having that safety net of working for someone though.

Well I guess it all comes down to the "do I like my job?" question. Remember money isn't everything. You could quit your job and work fulltime in adult. But sometimes a corporate job can be mutch more rewarding.

It depends on how much you are making there... if you are making 500k/year than 50k "get lost" bonus doesn't sound apealing anymore...

if you are making anything under 100k/year I would take it without thinking twice...
