Bush on the morning of 9-11

Someone please tell my why after nearly three fucking years people are suddenly all in a fuss about George Bush continuing to read to schoolkinds for seven minutes after finding out about the second plane hitting the WTC? You all act like this is new information. We already knew this on 9-11. The reason given for this was that he did not want to alarm the children and was waiting for the appropriate moment to excuse himself. I found this explanation to be perfectly acceptable at the time and nothing has changed.
To suggest that he was more interested in a photo-op than in handling the situation is assinine. It was SEVEN FUCKING MUNITES, for christ's sake. Say what you want to about about Bush, but you cannot deny that he did a hell of a job in rallying the country in the dark days after 9-11. Even liberal asswipe Gerraldo Rivera said 'I'm glad he is my president' on his MSNBC talk show. |

it took us three years of sitting around thinking to realise he was a bit slow off the mark there :o)

Thousands of people dying... but he didn't want to alarm a classroom of kids?
	Riiiiiiight. |

Did you even watch the taped footage? Did you look into his eyes? Did you see the guilt? The fear?
	 |

If Geraldo said he was a "good guy" then it must be 100% true.

Planes were crashing into the country's tallest buildings, I think the reading could have been finished by the teacher.

I haven't seen enough information to be able to blame Bush for not acting pre 9-11. But it is a fact the guy was sleeping at the job before 9-11 and then just went full force into his personal agenda afterwords. Instead of uniting a great country, bush instead drove it father apart and down the wrong road. |

You fucking idiot. It was a national crisis and the fucking PRESIDENT has no business being any fucking where reading books. Not to mention he should have been removed immediately for his own safety.

Rick is one of the Globe and Mail's movie critics. The full review is here
A damming exerpt of dubya reads: " Then, as the credits finally roll, George W. and his major players ? Rumsfeld, Rice, Cheney ? are seen in silent close-up before the TV cameras, their make-up being applied, their façades polished. Suddenly, the screen goes black and the silence is broken by the sounds of 9/11 ? no picture, just the screams, the tragic din. Now comes the kicker. A quick return back to Bush himself on that fateful morning, at a photo-op in an elementary school, sitting on a small chair at the head of the class. An aide arrives to inform him of the strike on the first tower, then on the second, and he simply continues to sit, his face the same blank stare. The camera watches as the minutes tick by ? seven long minutes and still no reaction. The point is made with savage brilliance: Briefly left unattended, with no one to pull his strings, the dummy is inert and vacuous." |

what would you do in seven mins? Since most of you seem
to know let us in on it. |

Have you noticed how much Bush has aged in 3 years??? The sad thing is that eventhough he has aged he hasnt gotten any wiser.

If this case we seem to have the possibilities of , sit as a moron, looking stupid, or jump around hysterically, looking like an idiot. Bush chose the first option. |

Yes, Bush looked confused when he heard the news. But we were all confused on that morning. Hindsight is a beautiful thing. |

 Bush is going down

Conservatives do like their Presidents dumb and slow though, so maybe he did the right thing to appease his redneck know-nothing political base. |
