Corleone 06-27-2004 01:15 PM

~100 for normal phone

SlickRick 06-27-2004 01:17 PM

mines two lines are running about 250 a month minus the DSL thats 200. and I dont call anyone...WTF is that about.

Raven 06-27-2004 01:17 PM

74. cell
133. phone, including long distance, etc. - 2 lines.

Doctor Dre 06-27-2004 01:17 PM

Eww 1.5g ? I pay like 80 $ internet, 160 $ for my 2 cell phones (I got one at home as a normal phone line and one I carry) .

For the business its a little more expensive ... probably 1000 $ bills monthly .

Fabuleux 06-27-2004 01:17 PM

$0 for cell phone (includes 120 free minutes which I never use)
$100 for normal phone and DSL.

Manowar 06-27-2004 01:17 PM

StuartD 06-27-2004 01:18 PM

damn, that's crazy... it's usually about $120 for my landline/dsl and $60 or so for my cell (non convention time).

So $180 on average.

Yeah, but I got a cell with a huge LD plan since I'm always roaming in Canada, US, South America or Europe. Then I got my blackberry for email access when I'm away. Then got my regular phone, and a 1-800 # to my cell for cheap asses, then on top of that I got a t1 frame to the office...shit doesn't come cheap, but it keeps me in touch when I'm really needed. :2 cents:

Tuna 06-27-2004 01:19 PM

last month was 270 or so

$230 a month for mine, GF's and the three kids. Fuck man. I didn't have a cell phone at 7th grade. They didn't even exist back then. Now I'd be a fucking abusive parent to allow my kids to walk to the store without one (for safety's sake).

Babagirls 06-27-2004 01:22 PM

about $45 for home line

anywhere from $45 to $75 for cell :glugglug

Cells have gotten ridiculous...the marketing campaign is all targetted towards the youth now, even though most of them are too young to sign the contracts.

Danny Dukes 06-27-2004 01:23 PM

Man you guys are gettting off easy on the cell phone bill! Mine averages about $400 a month, but then again I dont have land line I use my cell 24 7.

Khun 06-27-2004 01:24 PM

50 for the phone, 80 for the cell

Sosa 06-27-2004 01:26 PM

sextoyking 06-27-2004 01:27 PM

We save quite a bit of money at home and at the office with a few lines from, www.packet8.net

20.00 per month per line, unlimited usa/canada calls.

if you have high speed net, give this a shot. We have had it for over 1 1/2 yrs and works great..

1 regular line at the office (pots) 1 fax line, and 6 voip packet8.net lines :)

Not available in canada - and most of my minutes are chewed thru my cell since I'm on the road 6 days a week usually.

pushpills 06-27-2004 01:30 PM

you guys are getting ripped

im 45/mo for cell and i talk nonstop and never pay attention to minutes

and 8 bucks a month for my backup phone line in case i need to use dialup and cable goes kapow.

TheEnforcer 06-27-2004 01:33 PM

sextoyking 06-27-2004 01:33 PM

Ego,

packet8 will send there unit anywhere in the world, but yes you will only get a usa phone #, but I belive in reading the voip forums at, www.dslreports.com that there are some canadian voip providers already.

Try going over to england or turks & caicos and using your phone/receiving calls - see how far that 45/month will get you.

Nice to see someone else is taking advantage of VOIP and saving a big chunk of money. I signed up with Packet8 about 3 months ago, and the flat rate $20 per month for unlimited calls anywhere saves me an insane amount of money. I have an 800 voicemail number from ureach.com if anyone needs to reach me, which sends a text to my cell with the number that called, and how long the message is. All in total, I pay about $150 for the internet connection, phone lines (voip & cell) and my 800 voicemail #.

I think if I'd go with anybody, it would be Vonage for VoIP...I believe Telus is doing it *somewhat* in Canada. Either way, I'm not at any of my offices enough to use it, my bills all come from my Blackberry & Cell, and the t1 ain't cheap either.

Sly_RJ 06-27-2004 01:36 PM

My cell is around $40, I only use it when away from home for extended periods of time. Home line is about $30. Cable is about $50. So around $120 for everything.

sextoyking 06-27-2004 01:38 PM

TE, Pun,

good to hear things are going well :)

with Voip, packet 8 works splendid. you pick up the phone like normal and dial a number, 1-xxx-xxxx

When I goto my office in europe 3-4 times per year, I bring my packet8 adapter from home with me, plug it in the highspeed network in the office there, within 1 minute I now have a usa phone # ringing in europe. Wife / kids can call me anytime for free, and I can call anyone and the office for no charge, 6k miles away :)

Yeah, I used to help Paul out with a lot of stuffon my spare time years ago, so I had a few boxes there for free. Foonet went the way of the dodo when new ownership came tho and so did my free time quite frankly.

Haven't seen you on NP in ages, what the dilio?

Vonage sounds pretty sweet....I'd get it if I was in the US...a few good friends of mine are on the leadership team for Net 2 Phone, that also looks like a sweet deal in numerous countries

Peaches 06-27-2004 07:21 PM

$135 for my local phone service - three lines and DSL. $40 for the cell phone. No 800 number - if someone wants to call me, they pay :winkwink:

Marcus Aurelius 06-27-2004 07:26 PM

Vonage is neat, but they got slapped with some new regulations in NY... can't wait to see how it plays out
