They just said on CNN that North Korea has threatened to test a nuclear weapon if the U.S. doesn't comply with it's "demands."

They are actually trying to co-operate at least thats what I got out of the news. They want to put a "freeze" on their nuclear program if we provide a substantial amount of energy support.

Guess it depends on where you get your news. The N. Koreans definitely dont need a nuke program.

Now see... there is a threat... They have weapons... yet bush does nothing... Iraq... they assumed they had weapons... and invaded.

Makes no sense to be.... all about money that war was... nothing else. No terror... because they are not stopping terror... they are creating more with this war... No WMD's to date... they have been there long enough, they should have at least found one... don't you think?

Jesus Christ, either CNN is turning into Fox faster than ever, or you seriously don't understand how to watch a news story. There's no threats or demands. This has been an issue since long before Bush became President. I love when people read the CNN ticker and think they understand what's going on.

They want aid with security and energy, and it sounds like Bush has actually come to his senses finally. At first he said he wasn't going to give them anything until they got rid of all their nuclear programs, now he's ready to offer them some relief. Maybe this Iraq debacle has taught the man some humility.

Umm, excuse me, but I've been watching CNN all day, and they've been reporting that North Korea was negotiating the end of their nuclear program in exchange for security and such. But Heidi Collins reported just a little while ago (it was NOT on the news ticker but STRAIGHT OUT OF HER MOUTH) that in a meeting a few hours ago they had "threatened" to "test a nuclear weapon" if the negotiations were not successful. Whether it's true or not is not my place to say, I was just reporting what they reported, hence the question mark in the thread title.

they agreed to freeze their nuclear program once already in 1994 in exchange for oil, food and medicine... and just opened another secret location to enrich uranium and moved their entire nuclear program underground.... which is the whole reason for this round of BS.

I have just seen on CNN that a group of U.S. privateers have just achieved the first ever (private) maned sub-orbital flight and in a related story a group of amateur U.S. rocket makers have just broke the altitude record for a private rocket , their intention is to put the first amateur satellite into orbit. Isn't it hypocritical that U.S. citizens are permitted to develop WMD delivery systems yet let Iran or N. Korea try it and it is almost grounds for war.
