It amazes me how bad all this spyware and ad shit is getting.
Case and point:
My cousins laptop weeks ago. Viruses up the ass , spyware up the wazoo. Took me a few hours to clean his shit up. Second my mom's pc. Fuck man i loaded norton and all that shit and told her about live update and such. So i got a call saying pc issues. I go over and see that she has 43 viruses, and god knows the amount of spyware. In IE: one popup after another. Makes you wonder what the avg pc user with little tech knowledge must go through cause of all this shit. Crazy shit but i bet they are making $$$$ off of these spyware exploits. :2 cents: |
Every non technical person I know with a computer is inundated with spyware and popups and doesn't even realize it. They think the internet is just like that.
Im SURE the scum are making a lot of coin off of it. |
This happens because people can make a lot of money with it basically.. I think these fuckers should be treated like virus makers.
Send a few of them to prison for a few years and I bet it all magically stops.. or dies down anyways. |
i even get shit without knowing it, and I don't even download shit.....last night I could not access any companies website that deals with ridding spyware...turns out I had some...and I didn't even know, no signals
|
I've seen people with three different toolbars installed..Another friends computer is moving at a crawl..
But sometimes it's the users fault...I gave her my norton CD and she didn't even bother to install it yet. |

even more amazing is that someone from GFY who use to post here alot is behind all the recent spyware.
A man who knows no limits when it comes to making money, I cant wait until I see his name in the news. |
The worse system I've seen was a family of 5 (using one XP home system)..... over 4,600 different spyware/virus defenition triggers on the system.
Im NOT exagerating the figure at all is was actually OVER 4.6K individual files and registry enteries. |
Tell me about it. I have talked to a lot of people who are not computer savvy and their computers are a mess. Hell, even my computer goes down hill if I don't keep on top of it.
I run Spybot daily (well i try to) and right after I run the one by lavasoft that gets what spybot didn't. I then move on to Spyware Begone for a third and final scan which sometimes picks up something the other three didn't. Then it is on to Norton's...but last week when i was having a problem clearing n-case....an online scanner picked up a trojan that Norton's missed. I tell ya, it is getting to be a full time job keeping our three computers clean. |

My father clicks the links in porn spam. :(

Its all money in someones pocket. If the spyware assholes arent making coin, then the computer tech's sure are.
Makes you wonder how many people dont know someone with computer knowledge and just take their machines in to get serviced. I guess business is business, but its pretty annoying. |
yea it's insane.. I can't believe they are making laws against spam and nothing about spyware. I used to install Broad Band Internet so I worked on a fair share of computer loaded with spyware.
I've come across a few computers that ran ok but weren't on the net, then the second to put them on the net they run like shitty because of all the spyware. I used to install and run ad aware for some of them, the record amount of spyware I came across was just over 3k pieces of spyware. |

Good article, BTW |
the spyware that pisses me off the most is that fucking home-network-default shit or however it is put. its spyware that installs without any yes/no trigger and it jacks your homepage into this popup hell... then the main page is a big stop sign that says "Your computer is infected with spyware! Click here to by Spyware Remover!"
wtf... is that legal? for a spyware removal company to make spyware to pretty much force people into buying their shit? i mean this is a pain in the ass, everytime you change your homepage, it rejacks it. stupid son of a bitc:feels-hot |
It will take congress years to pass a law agaisnt this, mainly because of Microsoft
|
I've just started using Netscape all the time now and my instances of this shit are now minimal (but I still run spybot every day)
I do have the iwon.com toolbar win the rare instances I use IE, but the difference is that I CHOSE to install the toolbar and if I don't like it I can un-install the fucker. I know who escortbiz is talking about and I think I'll go take a shit in their booth at an upcoming show, then of course I'll give them a roll of cheap ass toilet paper to "un-install" the feces...and their booth with still reek of shit...just like their scumware does to peoples' computers..... |

This article is only two days old. Booting Legit Ads? But some observers think anti-spyware laws will prohibit legitimate online ads and stifle innovation. "We feel this law will essentially outlaw a perfectly acceptable form of advertising and commerce," says Emily Hackett, executive director of Internet Alliance, a vendor trade association. Advertisers and makers of ad programs want laws to distinguish between spyware and adware. "We agree there is a problem," says Robert Regular, president, Americas, of Cydoor Desktop Media. He notes that spyware installs itself without your consent and tracks your surfing habits so it can target ads. Ban them both! |
The worst case of spyware that i ever encountered was at some website using Porngraph as a counter. It took me 3 days to get my PC back to normal. Bastards :ak47:

with spam, you can delete it and move on, with this shit, you have to jump through hoops and it still stays around..... |
IMO - if i want something... i will find it. I DO NOT need it to be shoved in my face. That shit just pisses me off. If i come across a site with pop-ups... i WILL NOT go back. If someone sends me a gallery with spyware or some pup-up or any other shit like that... that is an automatic ban... NO if and or buts!
People who send out this shit and their fucking spam should ALL be shot. :2 cents: |
It's like a plague. I use spybot and avast every day, sometimes I scan twice a day. :thumbsup

general pop ups are very much different than this software that auto-installs that you can't take off your machine... |

yeah.... i know what you are talking about. IE will go to some fucked up site when i get a 404... cannot get rid of that either. |
I love the spyware and virus, they = $$$
I always have computers to repair for extra cash. If you are sick of fighting with the spyware and virus stop using IE and Outlook. Keep IE loaded on your system so you can review your sites/pages as the surfer sees it, but use mozilla/firefox/opera for your main browser. Download and use Sybot Search and Destroy AdAware Spywareblaster AVG AntiVirus all are free and constantly updated Keep your windows updated. or switch to Linux or Mac :) |
i have four different anti spyware programs that i run every day. when i ran them yesterday my machine was clean.
and yet last night when i got home from dinner, my homepage was changed, two toolbars were installed and it took me over an hour to get all the shit off my pc.... ALL THIS WHILE I WASNT EVEN USING THE PC what the fuck how is this not illegal? i didnt choose to install this shit, i wasnt even here. if i could figure out who it was and how to prove it i would definitely file suit. |
