Who Are The GFY Pioneers?

looking at some of these old threads idiots are dragging up I see some people I didn't know went that far back on GFY.

So who were the GFY pioneers who planted the roots of all this success Lensman is having here? I really only know that Boneprone was the driving force. Who else?

buddyjuf 06-05-2004 10:01 PM

me :Graucho

Mutt 06-05-2004 10:04 PM

March 2003 - johnny come lately.

Amp 06-05-2004 10:07 PM

i don't know about being a "pioneer" or anything about any roots, but I sure as hell poured a ton of jet fuel into this motherfucker over the years.

Doctor Dre 06-05-2004 10:08 PM

Not me honestly ... I had my own board so I didnt post here that much .

KRL 06-05-2004 10:17 PM

I think Juicy, Fletch, and Amp have been around the longest.

boneprone ... fletch wasnt there in 2001 was he ?

Mutt 06-05-2004 10:37 PM

i don't think Juicy was a big player here in its beginning days, i think the cult of Juicy is fairly recent. not sure about Fletch. that's why i asked, the only one i really know is Boneprone and maybe theFLY?

the Shemp 06-05-2004 10:41 PM

hahaha.

I will never forget him saying that he posted about 1000 times on the week of September 11, while Amp posted about 1000 times ON September 11. :)

Does anyone know whether that scam shit was ever resolved?

Mutt 06-05-2004 10:45 PM

Amp has a thread that is similar to this one. 'Lightning' is a GFY pioneer. I think he worked for Lensman right at the time?

Gary was a card.

MetaformX 06-05-2004 11:52 PM

This was the thing that started the GFY revolution...It put GFY on the map, ask Lens. He still has not sent me a replacement shirt however...

I've been here since 2001 reading since then and I admit I miss Gary. But Amp is also great.

i did bring a lot of people to gfy with my first thread - but guys like amp and boneprone were the real pioneers.

rhizome 06-06-2004 12:09 AM

I remember Boneprone and the Fly in the beginning but had pretty much stopped posting by the time Amp and his herd showed up.

AnalProbe 06-10-2004 05:58 AM

I also posted in the beginning, lost a few passwords/nicks.

Can't memorize the nicknames, will look in my mail backups.

Stop 06-10-2004 06:09 AM

My first meeting with this board was back in 2000.

At that time Hungryman was a king in here, Snow was one of the cool guys (according to him self, AMP was a designer and had just moved to Hawai!!

Ahhh.. that was good times :glugglug

Disco_Stu 06-10-2004 06:47 AM

I registered in 2000, but didnt post much. Started posting alot I guess in 2001. About 10 names, around 3k posts each...

Disco_Stu 06-10-2004 06:49 AM

Seen alot of "big timers" come into the industry right on this board, also seen alot of "so called big timers" totally dissapear off this board and the industry.

Tam 06-10-2004 06:51 AM

Yup, I was here way back then. Registered in January of 2001. I posted like hell for a long ass time and then had to slack off for a few months, and am back now.

Things have sure changed on some levels and stayed exactly the same on others.... :thumbsup

ClamSmacker 06-10-2004 06:51 AM

Congrats on the pioneers and all the ones that contributed.
I think you have a fuckin great board and community.
The best boardroom I've been in!!
:)

SABAI 06-10-2004 07:37 AM

I'd say KRL & Juicy should be on that list.. though I only started reading GFY myself in 2001 so I may be incorrect

cool1 06-10-2004 07:45 AM

I was here then
Didn't post much then but was always having a laugh, and learning while reading the threads.

SABAI 06-10-2004 07:47 AM

the board was built on 01-03-2001 and i registerd on 01-27-2001 just after lensman announced it at PC BBS.

i wonder where the people claiming to hang out here in 2000, were hanging out . was there a hidden GFY back then?

i even remember something about lens buying the GFY domain after he clicked on a link with this url in a thread and noticed it was vacant .

is it right lens? or did i dream all this?
