Who Are The GFY Pioneers?
 

looking at some of these old threads idiots are dragging up I see some people I didn't know went that far back on GFY.

So who were the GFY pioneers who planted the roots of all this success Lensman is having here? I really only know that Boneprone was the driving force. Who else?

I think Juicy, Fletch, and Amp have been around the longest.

boneprone ... fletch wasnt there in 2001 was he ?

i don't think Juicy was a big player here in its beginning days, i think the cult of Juicy is fairly recent. not sure about Fletch. that's why i asked, the only one i really know is Boneprone and maybe theFLY?

don't forget about Gary...

Amp has a thread that is similar to this one. 'Lightning' is a GFY pioneer. I think he worked for Lensman right at the time?

I've been here since 2001 reading since then and I admit I miss Gary. But Amp is also great.

i did bring a lot of people to gfy with my first thread - but guys like amp and boneprone were the real pioneers.

I remember Boneprone and the Fly in the beginning but had pretty much stopped posting by the time Amp and his herd showed up.

Ah, I remember the days when Amp was a newb on GFY. Made his biggest appearance after the 9/11 attacks..

Seen alot of "big timers" come into the industry right on this board, also seen alot of "so called big timers" totally dissapear off this board and the industry.

Yup, I was here way back then. Registered in January of 2001. I posted like hell for a long ass time and then had to slack off for a few months, and am back now.

Things have sure changed on some levels and stayed exactly the same on others.... :thumbsup

I'd say KRL & Juicy should be on that list.. though I only started reading GFY myself in 2001 so I may be incorrect

the board was built on 01-03-2001 and i registerd on 01-27-2001 just after lensman announced it at PC BBS.


i wonder where the people claiming to hang out here in 2000, were hanging out . was there a hidden GFY back then?

i even remember something about lens buying the GFY domain after he clicked on a link with this url in a thread and noticed it was vacant .
