the Shemp 05-31-2004 11:35 PM

i dont recall my income rising when the PR went up, so i dont expect it to go down now.

Rictor 05-31-2004 11:36 PM

Yah, all mine are down a point.

Odin88 05-31-2004 11:37 PM

Most of mine seem the same. A few drops though.

Jon 05-31-2004 11:38 PM

No worries, I'm sure it will go back to it's normal amount. Maybe check backlinks, and compare it to last month's numbers just to make sure.

HS-Trixxxia 05-31-2004 11:46 PM

Strange, every site dropped by one - the middle page (which wasn't ranked before) comes in at 3 - wheras the site (all pages on it) went down by one - go figure!%?

cali_22 06-01-2004 12:23 AM

Each data center is in a different stage of updating - hence it takes time - this one appears to be moving quickly....but they are really quite boring these days ---- nothing like the adrenaline rush of a good old fashioned Google dance..

If you get a drop in PR, it could mean:
1) You have lost some links or the PR of links to you have dropped
2) There is a tendency for all pages to naturally loose PR with time (unless they increase links) as the size of the www increases, there is less PR available for each page. Often in this case the PR drop could only have been, for eg, from 5.00000001 to 4.9999999 - which show up as 4 or 5 on the tool bar.

At the end of the day, its not all that important as Google probably took the new PR and backlinks into account a few weeks back (there was something going on with ranking about 2 weeks ago).

how stupid am I? I never thought about this option. very good. but it also means that ranking will not change if this happens.

I see no changes on my sites yet. what datacenter IP has updated backlinks?

More Booze 06-01-2004 02:48 AM

only checked 3 of my sites so far, 2 dropped, 1 at the same.

Cash 06-01-2004 02:54 AM

Whoever did this to Google will be courtmartialed. :glugglug

Shooter 06-01-2004 02:57 AM

Had 4 sites drop by 1 :(

Shaze 06-01-2004 02:57 AM

Yeah seems pretty much acoss the board.. its not a big deal if everyone lost about the same PR. Keeps it even.

Theo 06-01-2004 03:19 AM

it affected only adult domains from what i can see

Good observation... :thumbsup

Marie 06-01-2004 04:06 AM

Mine went up from 3 to 4!

McSpike 06-01-2004 08:48 AM

Bah I am where I expected I would be. Kept my PR7 and gained backlinks. Whatever you did or didn't do that made your PR drop, it's your fault. No changes at Google.

Nasty 06-01-2004 09:47 AM

Bunch of mine dropped last month, they all came back up this month so this update was good for me

Easton 06-01-2004 09:48 AM

Edguy! 06-01-2004 10:33 AM

Eep :eek7

crockett 06-01-2004 10:37 AM

dosen't matter rank goes up or down like this every so often but the traffic stays the same.

what I'm having an issue with is search.yahoo.com I used to get more from them than google. Then they did that change a while back and I get nothing from search.yahoo but still get a little from dir.yahoo.com anyone good with yahoo ?

Babel 06-01-2004 10:39 AM

PR7, thank you :Graucho

Babaganoosh 06-01-2004 10:45 AM

People sweat their PR too damned much. If you're using PR to measure the success of your site, you've missed the boat.
