Do you tip bartenders?

AMADude 05-27-2004 07:30 PM

Of course.
I am in Vegas. I tip all tip earners and tip well. They get paid minimum wage, if you don't tip them, they are not making dick.

EviLGuY 05-27-2004 07:31 PM

Tipping is not customary in Australia.

I always give the bartender a big tip at the beginning of the evening, ensures better service through the rest of the night.

Spunky 05-27-2004 07:35 PM

Yup..every Stella or Nastro Azzurro costs me 10 bucks.

candyflip 05-27-2004 07:35 PM

$1 per drink.

bluedevil 05-27-2004 07:37 PM

DEPENDS where you are i guess, but yea always try to

cherrylula 05-27-2004 07:41 PM

Yep, its the best way to keep the drinks coming fast and cold. And if you're in the right bar the bartender will kick you freebies.

A lot of Vegas hotel and casino employess are union and get $10-11 an hour plus tips.

That said, yah, I tip my bartender every time I buy a drink.

boardersweetie 05-27-2004 07:46 PM

I'm friends with all the guys that work at the local bar. they're great guys and they buy me and my roomie drinks all the time. Hell yeah I tip.

SmutGiant 05-27-2004 07:47 PM

Depends how drunk I am, lol

Mike Okitch 05-27-2004 07:47 PM

I'm going to drink the damn thing, I better tip well.

First rule when going out, never ever, EVER mess with someone handling your drinks and food.

You mess with their salary by not tipping, they mess with your drink. So I'll pass on the spit, piss or cum in my drink and I'll tip :)

Anyone who doesn't is a cheap bastard :BangBang:

GFED 05-27-2004 07:53 PM

I don't like to run a tab... and I always tip $1 a drink...

If the service was excellent, I'll give an extra $5 or $10 on my way out...

That's how to do it. :thumbsup

Boogie3 05-27-2004 07:59 PM

Depends, I tip them but I tip more for mixed drinks. I'm not giving you some huge tip to take a cap off a bottle.

Tuna 05-27-2004 08:01 PM

yeah i tip, $ 1 per

sinkiss 05-27-2004 08:05 PM

i always tip!! from the bartender to the drive thru car hop at sonic. i have been a waitress before, it sucked. i definitely tip.

Doc911 05-27-2004 08:06 PM

Of course how much I tip depends on if she has a nice rack, a tight little ass, and smiles.

I'm not to hip on the depressed type. They get about half of a regular tip

Babaganoosh 05-27-2004 08:07 PM

If I get my drink in a reasonable amount of time, yes. If I have been standing at the bar for several minutes and the bartender keeps serving hot chicks that just walked up, he won't get a tip.

Sammy4u 05-27-2004 08:08 PM

Hell Yes I tip my bartender! I always make sure to tip them well actually. I used to be a bartender so I know that a good tip gets you great service and a hefty pour.

No excuse for not tipping at least a dollar a drink!

I hate it when that happens...only happened once or twice to me though. I get pissed off when the bartender serves people who show up after I do, especially if I'm there for 10 mins and then one of their friends shows up and they get served right away.

HAPPYPEEKERS 05-27-2004 08:10 PM

I tip them :-)

stev0 05-27-2004 08:16 PM

I do... not sure why though.

I believe tipping should be a bonus for extra good service, not just expected.

smokingdawn 05-27-2004 08:18 PM

Of course

Easton 05-27-2004 08:18 PM

yes, same as a waiter/waitress

winter 05-27-2004 08:19 PM

of course. if the drinks are way expensive, usually not much, but if they are cheap, about $1 per drink

FlyingIguana 05-27-2004 08:22 PM

depends. some fuckers in toronto overcharge for beer. so if the price is too high i don't tip. pissed me off when i paid 5 bux for a keiths, then went to my table and on the receipt it was like 4.50 or something. for the same damn beer!

also if the service sucks, i don't tip at all. if they don't care enough to give good service, they must get a good hourly wage.

erehwon 05-27-2004 08:25 PM

At least 15% and oftentimes more! :thumbsup

Rich 05-27-2004 08:27 PM

If you're going to be getting a 2nd drink and the place is busy you'd better tip well. :2 cents:
