How much $$$ do you need to live comfortable?

How much $$$ do you need to live comfortable? Per month, per week, per year... what ever... What makes you comfortable?

bllott 05-24-2004 11:16 AM

100 000 000 000 /year

Scott McD 05-24-2004 11:16 AM

Alot more than i get just now...

okny 05-24-2004 11:16 AM

300k a year i will settle for.

nathan_f 05-24-2004 11:17 AM

right now, 2.5k a month is what i need to cover everything.. with just a little $ left over..

it's only going to go up from there...

count blingula 05-24-2004 11:17 AM

25k/ month will do for now:winkwink:

Lily 05-24-2004 11:18 AM

I really only need about $80,000 a year to be comfortable.

TexasGuy 05-24-2004 11:24 AM

Since I live at home: 1 000 (after tax) per month. I like to take university girls out on expensive dinners ... I should get myself an apartment so I can get to second base more often ... so maybe 3 000 dollars per month every thing included (which is about 6 000 before tax).

After tax, that's a nice figure

stocktrader23 05-24-2004 11:31 AM

sake 05-24-2004 11:32 AM

Pornwolf 05-24-2004 11:37 AM

To be comforable you don't really need much. Realistically I think $80k will do.

Now on the other hand to be happy as well as comfortable I have estimated the cost to be around $342 million for me. I'm not happy right now. I will be smiling soon though. :Graucho

pood 05-24-2004 11:38 AM

100k would be good

but right now, if i can get $200/week from webmastering, ill be happy ;)

jaYMan 05-24-2004 11:38 AM

I can't see ANYONE not being able to live very well off 80k a year!!!

What about you Headless?

FlyingIguana 05-24-2004 11:45 AM

cayne 05-24-2004 11:50 AM

5-10k would be enough, for the moment.

JDog 05-24-2004 11:51 AM

EviLGuY 05-24-2004 11:54 AM

Right now.. I only pay myself 4k a month, and I have no problems living on that.

I could actually cut it back a little actually. I live cheap. :)

cluck 05-24-2004 11:54 AM

Let me tell you a little story.

When I was waiting on court, my dad and attorney strongly suggested that I give up webmastering and get a day job. It'd be easier for me to get outta jail time if I had a real job. So I got one at A&P. A shitty $200/week job, the fools said I was better off. I worked there for several months and went completely broke. As soon as I quit that shit job I realized that I couldn't comfortably live on at least that much every day.

i can live comfortable on a little or a lot - i just adjust my spending inaccordance with what i have.

it's not smart to go into debt for personal things, even when poor- and if you have money it's foolish not to spend some of it and enjoy it now cause you may die tomorrow and you ain't taking the money with you. I'm not saying don't save for tomorrow - but you also have to live for today - it's about balance.

Daymare 05-24-2004 12:06 PM

I would be comfortable with 2 million invested in various things; real estate, mutual funds and GIC's.

Interest would make me > $100,000 a year on average (5%). So that's all I would need :)

Reak 05-24-2004 12:07 PM

I'm happy with the ammount i make now.

Fucksakes 05-24-2004 12:08 PM

its never enough, the more you make the more you raise your life style to what you make. id say 10-20k is plenty.

Trixie Racer 05-24-2004 12:10 PM

My Lexus is completely paid and my mortgage is only $850/month. I could survive on $20,000/year. I make significantly more than that and am VERY comfortable. :thumbsup

Dugmor 05-24-2004 12:14 PM

Traveling expenses, Airplane tickets, Gas, Car expenses, Food, hookers and Webmaster Conventions I would say an average of $1k usd a day.

Somedays I can spend less ............ somedays I can spend more. There are days I do not spend anything, but then an airplane flight or a night a strip club can mess everything up !

Dude if you have 2 million to invest your investment advisor BETTER be getting you at least 10-12% minimum. With no risk!!!

I really don't spend much money at all anymore.

Maybe $50 a week for lunches and coffee at Tim Hortons. $40 for gas, $20 for movies from Blockbuster. Maybe $50 on beers at the nearby pub. Of course I still have my company and employee expenses but personally I don't spend a ton of money anymore.

Most of the money I spend nowadays is on acquiring assets like real estate and such... I make a damn fine living but I don't try and live beyond my means. I always have a good laugh when I read about all the porn guys that need 20k a month to survive. Fuck man join the rest of the world in a place called reality. :winkwink:

You should get a discover cash back card. That way you can get blockbuster cards for free.

Furious_Male 05-24-2004 12:32 PM

192k Gross is where I would be truly comfortable (something I haven't hit yet). I tend to live a bit out of my comfort zone to keep me motivated.

Doctor Dre 05-24-2004 12:33 PM

Depends ... Life cost less here then in the states . 5k a month makes a really good living . But for extra expenses more is always better :P

HAPPYPEEKERS 05-24-2004 12:34 PM

ALWAYS HOPING TO RAISE IT THOUGH hehe :Graucho

stephanie m. 05-24-2004 12:34 PM
