You should probably pay attention. He did not say he will step down over this issue.

BlingDaddy 05-07-2004 11:46 AM

No way i can't belive it

He won't be out of a job, Bush is on his side. It's all the whiney democrats that want him to leave. Just a political ploy to try to regain democrate control of the government.

I have to agree with a previous thread in thinking that a lot of this is staged to get Bush out. Look at the pic of the naked men with bags over their heads. You can't tell what nationality they are. They could be US soldiers posing.

And who the hell in their right mind would take pictures of themselves torturing prisoners. That is just too much on the BS side of things for me.

kimzar 05-07-2004 12:01 PM

he won't step down

There's a thing called taking responsibility and this is his. It won't matter much in a few months because Rumsfeld and the rest of the worst administration in US history will be shown the fuckin' way out of Washington.
Now go have another latte, get another grunge CD and get the hell outta the rain. It's affecting your judgement.:winkwink:

Please... It's very common for the Military to fuck with prisioners. I know I was an MP/SRT in the Marines. I don't think this is really torture though, just having fun so they took some pics.. Wait until the real shit comes out a few years from now.

Frank The Tank 05-07-2004 02:05 PM

This was on sky news and it was live footage from the senate as a breaking bulletin - he was 2 1/2 hours through his cross examination with the senate

scamdotcom 05-07-2004 02:11 PM

This sounds made up

kimzar 05-07-2004 02:12 PM

Along with all of the millitary brass, the congress and the house, right?

The catholic church, for instance, has harboured arguably more pedophiles than any other organization. Yet nobody wants to lock up the pope.

Do you know a study was done, some 20 years I believe that predicted exactly these sorts of results. I wish I could find the link, it was on CNN yesterday.

Basically, volunteers were split in to two groups: Guards and inmates. The "experiment" was to run for 6 weeks.

After just over 1 week, I believe, the experiment had to be ended. It got out of control. The people in the guards group, were doing things shockingly similar to what happened in Iraq. Strip searches, sexual posing and the whole nine yards.

The vast majority of the US millitary serving in Iraq are doing so honorably and with courage. If this was not the case, then you'd have a leg to stand on in regards to jailing top leadership.

There's no cover up going on here. It's being investigated and it's being made public. What more can the top brass do?

I just saw him live on CNN in the last hour or so.

He said nothing of the sort.

What he said, and I'm paraphrasing, is that if he fealt he could not do his job in a non partisan way, he would naturally step down. He went on to say he would NOT step down, to satisfy anyone's political agenda.

And that's from the horses mouth, not just a news source.

NoCarrier 05-07-2004 02:40 PM

Wow! Crack is really a big problem on this board. :glugglug

cherrylula 05-07-2004 02:49 PM

They will bust him lying under oath that he only saw the pics last night... watch.

Gimme a break, like he doesn't have access to the internet.

he is soooo lying :1orglaugh

Pay closer attention. You're missing things.

He said he saw the same photos, in the press, that everyone else did.

The pictures he is talking about having seen last night, is one or two disks with MANY more photos than the public has NOT seen. It's part of the investigation ongoing against the soldiers that did this shameful act.

That means the subject of this post, is in fact wrong.

"Faced by calls to step down he said: 'Needless to say, if I thought I could not be effective, I would resign in a minute.'"

-BBC

I'll take that as a no.

The next sentence after that one, he went on to say he would not do it for political reasons.

Read: I'm not stepping down you demoractic fucking nuts.

The videos haven't come out yet. In the hearings today, they said the pics are only some of what's been released. The rest is worse.

Wonder what's on the videos? I heard something that they made the prisioners do a simulated sex video buttfucking each other. I sure hope they don't start playing that on TV next.

Why should he?

No one single person can be expected to be personally responsible for the actions of MILLIONS OF PEOPLE.

If that were true, we'd have to blame the pope for the bad acts of all Catholics. We don't do this because it's easy to recognize it as utter folly.

The fact that the vast majority of all US soldiers are serving with honor and dignity is not being credited positively to the President, or Deffense Secretary. Why are the deplorable acts of a very, very, very small percent of the armed forces to carry so much more weight the other direction?

It's simple hatred for George Bush, among mostly Democrats, that's driving this insanity.

Rest assured, that were a Democrat president right now .. The same people calling for Mr. Bush to be arrested, impeached or resign would be deffending the President. And the supporters of the now President would be on the offense, in much the same way.

Don't even try to tell me that it's not possible for soldiers to behave badly under a democratic President. That will keep me laughing for the whole weekend.

If murdering 10,000 Iraqi civillians wasn't enough to get Bush out of power, i cant see how this would be...
