Every man must die, but not everyone truly lives

chowda 04-18-2004 04:12 PM

mel gibson's best film

Ross 04-18-2004 04:13 PM

"They fought like warrior poets, they fought like Scotsmen and won their Freedom!"

Powerful.

GiantGnome 04-18-2004 04:45 PM

Braveheart is my all time favorite movie!

zzgundamnzz 04-18-2004 04:56 PM

Its a good movie but historically in-accurate. The scottish should of been wearing full armor when they fought. The kilt wasn't even invented yet. Then the Battle of Sterling was supposed to be at a bridge. The british got wasted cause the bridge nullified their numbers. Then when Wallace lost he wandered Europe for a few years.

But in the end nobody cares. It was an excellent movie

:thumbsup :thumbsup

Vanilla DeVille 04-18-2004 04:58 PM

Lee 04-18-2004 06:44 PM

I love that film and Im English. Even though the crown prince is a bit of a mincer....no hang on...

BlueDesignStudios 04-18-2004 06:57 PM

Braveheart is an awesome movie.. definitely one of my favorites, if not my favorite..

KRL 04-18-2004 07:00 PM

One of my all time favorite films also. It's hard to believe people really lived in such a brutal way though. The English were quite sadistic when it came to toruring people that didn't go with the program.

riosluts 04-18-2004 07:01 PM

yeah havent seen that movie in so many years. like 6+ years. but indeed it was a great movie

Sambo 04-18-2004 07:14 PM

Am I the only one that didnt like it........

But then Im not really into that whole "Genre"

(I think thats the word?)

stjames 04-18-2004 07:18 PM

I have to go to Scottland, I have this Braveheart fantasy. So if you have a broad sword (he, he), a horse and a kilt, let me know.

First time I watched it I didn't like it that much either. It grows on you if you watch it a couple more times.

Horse? Broadsword?

More like beer can & crash helmet... :winkwink:

Oh and dont forget to put a babelfish in your ear so you can translate the accent.

That movie is one of Mel Gibson's finests.
I really like the part where he shouted
freedom instead of mercy.

Kicker 04-19-2004 02:42 AM

Nice movie:thumbsup

Sarah_Jayne 04-19-2004 03:01 AM

i always found it overrated but still not horrible.

However, I worked in a cinema in the States when it came out and we had one English guy working with us. I felt bad for him because everytime people came out and heard his accent he got the dirtiest looks.
