The statement was made in response to allegations from certain quarters that the Bush administration knew all about 9/11 prior to the attacks and did nothing to stop them. This statement was made months ago.

Using Hindsight, every disaster in the history of mankind "could" have been prevented. Disaster happens, you look back and realize this and that could have been prevented it. The media likes playing the hindsight game because people like directfiesta doesn't know any better.

For all you idiots that still somehow support Bush...the issue, really, is that terrorism took a back seat to attacking Iraq for reasons that had/have nothing to do with terrorism. It's not whether Bush had DIRECT info relating to the attacks.

If this weren't an election yesr - this wouldn't be a topic of discussion. And it's pretty abvious it's intent is not to make America a more secure place, but only an attemt to make Bush look bad before the election.

It's one of the reasons I think in the middle of all this, Bush is gaining ground and Kerry is dropping. I don't think people like it when the politicians care more about getting elected than real national defense.
