Just curious - no big crowds - just you and your sig other (if there is one) - in the summer - boating, quads, hiking, fishing, etc. just some fun. I have high speed wireless in the house here.

Too far....besides, my husband would abandon me for the wilderness the whole damn weekend. My kids would be pissed cuz they're thinking I'm having all the fun. I hate insects and for the love of my husband I'd be outside pretending that it doesn't bother me or that I'm totally excited about the fish he catches.

Seriously, I would love to, but I'm already planning on Montreal for the summer and maybe Tucson, so I doubt I could make it to Manitoba this year. :(

since I have never crossed into Canada, I can't think of too many ways that would be a better first experience . . . summer.. . . I don't think I am cut out for a Canadian winter

I've probably driven right past your place or close to it several times over the years. Two of my siblings and several friends all have cabins just north of you at Grindstone point, and I usually take #7 to your town and then cut over to 8.
