Apart from the guy here who calls himself Jesus Christ does anyone consider themselves Christian? Is it possible to be a good devoted Christian and sell porn over the internet.

I really don't think the two mix. Anyone disagree?

Someone can be a "Christian," and not necessarily subscribe to the exact beliefs in the bible that was clearly written by men with motives.

There are here on this board muslims, jews, christians, atheists, agnostics, buddhists the list goes on.

Church has nothing to do with Christianity, Christianity is the belief that Jesus has died for our sins and thus we are saved by him.

@Montel: what he means here is that God is the only one who can judge us and you are in no position to do this.

I think Eros is making an excellent point coz you are defining Christianity into a small 1x1 box where there is nothing outside the box.

I know a bunch of Christians who look upon the bible as what it is..something that was written by man...and is at most a collection of stories that are metaphors on how to live your life...and believe God's judgment to be something entirely different.

dude if you're a xtian the Bible is divinely inspired and is the direct word and commandment of Gawd. If you don't believe it's divinely inspired then it has no more relevance than LOTR.

And the Bible has gone through many changes and many translations, books have been added and dropped...read about the apocrypha.

inspired is one thing...but written by is another..and it was written by man.

I tried actually going to church and working in the industry. I found it too conflicting so now I just don't go to church. Damn Pasters always want to know your business. I could only skirt around the question so far before they knew something was up and I wasn't comfortable with the same question over and over.

Not all webmasters do that. Some of us simply put up ad pages/sites and direct traffic that will be hitting the adult paysites eventually anyway.

Yes you can follow christian principles and produce porn, there is no conflict. To be a christian it's not necessary to ever had read the bible, despite they 2000 year old hype. In fact I encourage all christians to stop reading those children stories and even stop attending church and focus on the important stuff.

I know about the Apocrypha, you special ed student, I'm reading 'Lost Christianities' right now. And I agree it was written by man and is full of shit, but I'm NOT a christian. If you want to be a christian you have to follow the Bible and you have to believe it's divinely inspired, otherwise you're just some vaguely spiritual person, but you're not a christian.

and when they say inspired they don't mean like he gave them the idea. They mean that every syllable in that book comes directly from God and is set to the page by man. The book is infallible, if it's not the whole basis for the religion falls apart. And if you don't follow the book religiously you are NOT a christian according to christian theology.

One more thing: almost all the books in the Apocrypha are even MORE anti-woman and anti-sex than the books in the official canon. Most of them disapproved of sex even in marriage.
