thought it would be horrible, made fun of people that did it and then I tried it. Has to be low fat variety but yes, it is the way to go. Though, you can mix the two and get that special sauce feel.


The satay sauce the use in Holland is pretty groovy too.

if you want the really wacky combo just add a dolop of mustard (american..none of that nose bleed UK mustard) to the mix.

Yeah or a mix of ketchup, mustard and mayo sauce (=low fat! yay!). Yummy!!! Everything is good on fries. Sate sauce too.... I think i'm going to start a sate sauce exporting company...

Send your first order to the UK! I fell in love with sate (satay..depends where you are) in Aruba. Nowhere I have had it has been as good. Aruba got it from the Dutch. So, yes please :)

a peanut sauce with Malaysian routes. It can be spicy but I like the milder kind. Very yummy on a variety of meats but the Dutch like it on their fries too :)

Low fat?? I want mine as greasy as possible. Albert Heijn home brand mayo...I go through about half a jar with one helping of fries :)

If it's McDonalds fries, i like Sweet and Sour sauce, as for any other kind, pass me the hot sauce!

When I was in Ghent a few months ago we saw kids/teens in them everywhere. Some seemed like the 'had' to be there. One was wearing a banana costume! We figured it was some sort of scouts but the major numbers of people in them made us wonder if they were mandatory or something.

Well, I link hotten that pic from a Dutch page so that's the Netherlands. And they are prob scouts.

But those guys in Gent could be what we call "schachten". Those are people who are in their first year of Univ and have to dress up and have to do certain humilating thinks to loose their "Univ virginity". after they lost their "virginity", they get to wear a traditional kind of "hat" and "scarf" to prove to the world that they lost their freshman virginity. Those people who wear them all the time (at night mostly) are part of a club. Those clubs do nothing more than oranizing drinking contests and parties but the roots of those "student clubs" are sometimes 150+ years old.

But it could have been just someone with a costume or some bachelor party or just local fashion:thumbsup
