Rape and pillage has always been part of the attraction to the soldier life. This goes back thousands of years, in fact in some cases the only way to raise an army was the promise of loot and booty. This is why it was always easier to raise an invading army then to gather a defensive force ie. the reason Vikings were so succesful.

I don't condone the behaviour but this is the sort of thing that will never change and to think that American soldiers, an all volunteer force, are any different than the millions before them is a bit naive :2 cents:
