Star Wars or Star Trek?

You gotta vote on one...if you don't like either, choose the lesser of the two 'evils'...

Star Wars for me...

Fletch XXX 03-08-2004 12:28 PM

as a writer gene roddenberry is way better.

remember, george lucas doesnt do much on the writing these days.

i picked up episode 1 and everything, he does screenplay and directs it but its ghost written like anne rice, kinda make me sick.

first star wars is good.

i do love star trek though.

next Gen is the best.

uvort 03-08-2004 12:28 PM

Long live the dark side of the force *hums Imperial March* :thumbsup

Dildozer 03-08-2004 12:30 PM

StarTrek all the way.

Just thank god Return of the Jedi and Empire Strikes back was directed by someone else than Lucas, otherwise the whole saga would've sucked.

Tried watching a New Hope and GOD THE DIALOGS ARE FUCKIN RETARDED.

Same for episode 1 and 2
ridiculous and Overrated

hova 03-08-2004 12:31 PM

they both suck ass like monkeys on crack

X-Wing 03-08-2004 12:31 PM

Star wars all the fucking way.

I'm surprised the poll is a close as it is...I thought SW would be kicking ass.

Anna_O 03-08-2004 12:42 PM

ST:TNG is a great series. The Empire Strikes Back is a great film. But the fuckups called SW 1 & 2 makes my vote shift over to ST.

Do you think if you were twenty years younger, you'd like Episodes I and II?

Reason I ask, I remember loving the OT when I was a kid, and even though I still like the movies, ROTJ is very kids oriented. So do you think that's the case?

Dildozer 03-08-2004 12:49 PM

The fact that ROTJ is kinda more kids oriented doesn't take the fact that it was well directed (except for the ewoks of course)

The rest of the saga was directed like shit (except for TESB)

Face it, Lucas is a shitty writer who has good marketing skills, if he was only smart enough not to direct his movies

Head 03-08-2004 12:51 PM

Tough one. I would have to say Star Trek. The new series is amazing. But i love Star Wars as well!

TheEnforcer 03-08-2004 12:53 PM

Star Trek hands down. Not even close. Deep Space Nine is the best tv show ever IMHO!! :thumbsup

body 03-08-2004 12:54 PM

Star Wars :thumbsup

hottoddy 03-08-2004 12:59 PM

Star Trek is much stronger overall. Nothing can touch the original 3 Star Wars movies, but the newest 2 have forever killed the franchise.

Lykos 03-08-2004 03:34 PM

Star wars:thumbsup

biglou 03-08-2004 03:35 PM

Star Trek (but lets forget tha Nemesis ever existed.)

500 federation credits or 20 quatloos to the first person (who doesn't already know me) to spot Big Lou in the upcoming documentary Trekkies 2 .

Webasic 03-08-2004 03:36 PM

Star Wars for me...

Vote on one for what, president?

Which one is republican and which is democrat?

reynold 03-08-2004 08:05 PM

Way to go, Stars Wars!

fuelcell 03-08-2004 08:10 PM

Used to love Star Trek when I was much younger and bad writing didn't bother me so much. Now I can look back at the original and Generations Treks and see how really awful the scripts were.

I almost worship Star Wars. Plot, characters - who cares? I just want to see Jedi chopping away with their light sabers.

sexykitten 03-08-2004 08:14 PM

Star Trek. It was always on when I was growing up and it just grew on me. Now I love watching old re-runs. Next Gen, of course :winkwink:

tootie 03-08-2004 08:17 PM

I like both ALOT. Star Wars was the first movie I ever saw in the theater. I wasn't even 2 years old, yet, but I remember it well. However I am a Star Trek FANATIC. I don't think I could ever date a guy that didn't like Trek. :)

Basic_man 03-08-2004 08:20 PM

None of them ! :321GFY

jas1552 03-08-2004 08:39 PM

Star trek

Bansheelinks 03-08-2004 08:46 PM

Give me "Alien" and "Blade Runner" anyday over ST and SW.

"Alien" was just on again, I think the Action channel, yesterday; its so much more intelligent and realistic than anything Rodenberry or Lucas has done. Then again, its directed by Ridley Scott, a man who leaves anyone who directed any Star Wars film or Star Trek film in the dust.

Ic3m4nZ 03-08-2004 08:48 PM

Star Wars definitely

kowntafit 03-08-2004 08:50 PM

Startrek sucks in my opinion.

Go the Starwars.:thumbsup

Bansheelinks 03-08-2004 08:50 PM

BUT.........

I guess this is a SW versus ST poll........

I have to concur, the first 3 SW movies were a whole lot of fun and entertaining, but I did like ST 2 and ST4..........also into the equation are those 2 latest dreadful films by Lucas ( I mean, mygod they are bad!), but ST has had some clunkers too......I'd have to take early SW over anything Trek has done, even though I wish it were aimed at adults more and more intelligent (but again, this is Lucas we are talking about so thats asking too much).

Living For Today 03-08-2004 09:12 PM

never really paid much attention to either.
