In all of your years as a webmaster, what's the biggest program flop you've seen?
There have been tons to fall for whatever reason....There have been up and comers who have died due to cheating or stealing....There have also been a few billing processors that have left us in the cold.
Which program/processor flop irks you the most? :feels-hot |
good post:thumbsup

when Hollywood Whores was new... during the explosion of free trials...
they paid per signup, but once it was time for payout they couldn't afford it because the program was all new. GOOD PLAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Does anybody remember the fall of WSB? A lot of people lost a lotttt of money. The silver lining was Triple X Cash's actions taken by paying us all back. The amount they paid out of pocket definitly wasn't small! :thumbsup

Insite Adult stung lots of us on this board. Biggest that I have seen but just shows I have not been around long and it does not happen often.

SyPro
One of the first companies who allowed you to except credit cards without a merchant account. They were one of the very first to be axed by Visa back in 1999/2000 I think they are back with another name and hidding. |

I think the biggest whacked out job was the closure
of www.Busty-Amateurs.com Over 14,000 members, 17,000 webmasters and grossed over 600k a month. Closed by my former employer who found god :Graucho Did I forget to mention that I own the only copy of ALL the members who every joined BA. it's for sale, make an offer :) |

i remember a thing called sextab that kicked fuggin ass on pay and then it disappeared, they said they were gonna come out all new or some shit and never came back, it was that menu that slid out from the left of the browser and had bannerbuttons in it. i think the whole program only lasted a few months that was back in 98 heh

The rise and fall of Seth Warshawsky and IEG deserves to be mentioned in this thread

My vote goes for the collapse of DMR for the most financial pain it caused in the industry. |

It just goes to show, if you're in the right place at the right time with a little simple know how, you can get rich fast. I had lunch with him and told him to start an affiliate program with Epoch and get model releases. 3 months later he's bringing in big money. Soon after I started my consulting business. Joel, I still feel the pain from those lost revenues. I feel ya. All he had to do was stick with the plan. I hope he found what he was looking for at least. One day he'll wake up and go back to being the same pervert and wish he had all of that money. I mean, he loved looking at big naturally busted women. I can't imagine you can just turn a switch off in your head and turn directions like that. Oh well. |
Babenet or whatever it was called

Great thread title, very thought provoking.
I think a flop is different than a failure, like WSB or LikeWhoa. A flop is more like a new venture that burned out fast, like some of the ones that have already been mentioned in this thread. |
What was it.. Xstreamcash. Gary's program? That one was really surprising.

Trafficinc sucked in a lot of webmasters about 4 years ago. I know they got me for $300 before I termed their links.

The biggest one that hurt me, and i am sure alot of people here was when DMR collapsed. I lost a lot of money when that happened.

I was offline between July 1st and November 15th, so I guess this must have happened then. |
