Wow, some pretty serious ARS-changes!!

From their "news" section:
"On February 23, the GIM linking code page is deactivated. Followed by on March 8th all current GIM links will be redirected to either ARS4Real or For Mature Audiences Only (FMAO) websites."

KingK7 02-23-2004 12:42 PM

For those who do not know, GIM sites are all their regular paysites I think, like All Petite, Cute Girlfriend etc etc

Steve 02-23-2004 12:43 PM

KA-CHING!!!!

Dirty F 02-23-2004 12:43 PM

Is it time to redeem my points?

Nysus 02-23-2004 12:44 PM

So they're pulling out?

Cheers,
Matt

guschi2k 02-23-2004 12:44 PM

wtf ? just red it myself.....i don't give a shit about that ppc and ppi stuff....so the only pps left will be the byots or what ?

:helpme

KingK7 02-23-2004 12:45 PM

Also:
"The ARS Publisher Referral Program will capitalize on creating a totally new concept in the adult industry; complete 100% monetization of all publisher traffic. Publishers will now have the opportunity to promote ARS and earn money from each impression and each click sent. Earn 2X on your traffic. The ARS4Real Publisher Referral Program pays Per Impression COMBINED with Pay Per Click! "

Big changes, but I think they may be good, both for them and for the advertisers.

polish_aristocrat 02-23-2004 12:48 PM

wtf - it isn't on their website yet ! :helpme

tootie 02-23-2004 12:48 PM

BYOT is being reinvented, also. The current BYOTs will be gone.

BRISK 02-23-2004 12:49 PM

What are you reading? I don't see that anywhere

I think maybe they removed that because they didn't actually mean for anyone to find out about ARS4Real yet.

KingK7 02-23-2004 12:49 PM

They removed it from the "News" section now apparently.
Guess they want to make an announcement about it.

Nysus 02-23-2004 12:50 PM

Is this a clever scheme to keep monies to themselves? Not sure how this is affecting people.. Anyone?

Cheers,
Matt

Fletch XXX 02-23-2004 12:50 PM

Theo 02-23-2004 12:52 PM

You just have special super secret spy eyes! :)

KingK7 02-23-2004 12:52 PM

This easily has to be the biggest change to hit the adult internet webmaster community so far this year.

polish_aristocrat 02-23-2004 12:54 PM

Hm, it surprises me that some people don't believe ARS.
IMO ( apart from Silver Cash ) it is the only 100% trustworthy program on the web!

KingK7 02-23-2004 12:56 PM

I think the ARS crew are smart people, they will do what is best for their business, and their webmasters.

BRISK 02-23-2004 12:58 PM

I'm curious to see this ARS4Real that they will be redirecting all links to.

crockett 02-23-2004 12:58 PM

so what the hell is going on? I was in the middle of building a lot of galleries for ARS sites? is it just new linking codes or what?

Do you really think they care about the webmasters? :1orglaugh

The Other Steve 02-23-2004 12:59 PM

Now does this mean that there is going to be a whole new bunch of sites to promote?

I've gotta admit, they're impressing me so much I've had to stop and re-think things! Soon as I get my W9 in I'm all over ARS.

I think everyone was aware of the big changes coming in ARS, at least since a few weeks. :2 cents:

Platano 02-23-2004 01:04 PM

What is IMO?

The webmasters send them traffic, I am pretty sure they care enough about them/their traffic not to do anything stupid.

On Feb 23rd the GIM linking code page will be deactivated so no one puts new links to the old GIM sites up. Linking codes will remain active to those sites until March 8th when they will be sent to new sites, NO TRAFFIC WILL BE LOST

Michael O 02-23-2004 01:12 PM

Traffic will be redirected to their new sites and if they donīt have new sites in place for that niche it will redirect to a pay per click page.
Is what I have heard

PMdave 02-23-2004 01:12 PM

why is the announcement not there for the majority of webmasters?

sexsup 02-23-2004 01:12 PM

I think the ARS modifies will be good afterall

well I wasn't really promoting them, so I don't keep up with their day to day doings.. I just have a few gallery links here and there, but was about to start doing more galleries for a few of their sites.

and what happens after March 8th?

LeeNoga 02-23-2004 01:13 PM

Folks, ARS is no fly by night Mom and Pop....they are a force to reckon with and they have never not done webmasters right nor every went backwards with webmasters futures.

If they are changing things up there is a good reason for it, and all the best to ARS and what is to come....

Don't panic, don't want the bleachers to collapse from where I am sitting....

Now, I heard ARS is cancelling advertising on some webmaster boards, but hell what do I know....

I think it went up early by mistake and then was pulled.

I have no doubt that the new ARS will be much better than the current form.
And from what Iīve seen about their new byot program it will be atleast as good as the old one.

cosis 02-23-2004 01:14 PM

ARS4REAL is mentioned in AVN Online Magazine in a advertisement from ARS I received last week
