What's the most easily identified opening guitar riff

What do you think is the most easily identified guitar riff to open a song. For example, when you hear the guitar within seconds you know the song. I am going to say Sunshine of Your Love by Cream. Or Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple.

Double Live Gonzo was the first album my mom ever threw away. She denies it but I have no doubt that it was her. I'm still pissed off about that.

Ah yes, excellent tune, hadn't thought of that. Also Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry.

Great list. "For Those About to Rock" is identifiable in 1-2 notes. To this list I would add:

Black Sabbath's "Paranoid"

clixx 02-18-2004 07:55 AM

Jumpin Jack Flash- Stones
Revolution- Beatles
Purple Haze- Hendrix
Voodoo Child - Hendrix
Wild Thing- The Troggs
All Along the Watchtower-Hendrix
Mr. Tambourine Man- The Byrds
Tumbling Dice- Stones
Samba Pa Ti- Carlos Santana

and probably thousands of others as mentioned

CrazyNakedChick 02-18-2004 08:02 AM

Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Chile
