was mental i had urls from all over the pointing at xxxtop1000.com will have to do some searches now and work out whats pointing where.

I think google tries to eliminate abnormal optimisation.
It's not really normal to use certain phrase like 100 times per page. So synonyms come into play. No more easy manipulating.
Have you seen any book or newspaper which repeates the same phrase over and over, i haven't. They try to find synonyms.

I have been doing better and better. Then this one. I got some great terms but over all I think my traffic will take a hit.

It's on the Google Bar. Just hold your mouse over Page Rank and it will display it.

If the update is finished all of my sites stayed where they were.

Google is insane.. :) they put my worst spammy additions on top and plunged all my legit pages to the bottom of the heap. LOL

Overall my traffic will stay almost the same, so it doesnt really bother me.

Almost disturbingly awesome. Even sites with no metatags which were low down on my to-do list moved up.

Metatags don't matter with Google, hun.

Well it was a kick in the ass here. We enjoyed some sweet placement before the latest re-index. They are still slapping us around from page 1 to not listed on sore important keywords.

I don't think Google is finished yet as the title listed is our old one (changed about two weeks ago).

This kick in the backside is causing us to be more aggressive about what we should have been doing all along.

We also took a hit on PR ? PR5 to PR4. We quickly responded with the things you do to up PR. It will take a bit for Google to really beware of our efforts.

Well there is one or two - the noindex or robots.txt. If you screw up the robots.txt file, you screw your self.

AND if the syntax is wrong on the noindex or none -- Google will assume noindex, follow. The documentation says this meta tag IS CASE sensitive. Don't know if I believe that?

PR hasn't changed though.. yet...

Ah, I was assuming she was talking about metatag descriptions and keywords.

BTW, PR was not affected this weekend... the index changes and PR changes are on different schedules (according to googleguy)
