Simple enough question.
I've seen quite a few folks who sold their sig last month commenting on how the board has gone dramatically downhill and it's not even fun coming here anymore.
I have a feeling the only reason they do still come post is because they feel obligated to do so from selling their sig.

When the 27th comes up, who is dumping their signature and kissing GFY goodbye?

For those of you who didn't sell your signature (lurkers, lol); what more is it going to take before you just don't bother coming back?

Usually Lensman opens up the signature auction board on the 27th for 24 hours and then closes it down until the next 27th.

Folks go in there for one day and sell their signature space.

Guess not because for lots it seems to be their only income :1orglaugh

PS - it's also the day when the folks who sold their signature in January are free to do so again or not do so at all, their contract ends that day.

Some folks don't start their contracts until the 1st, though.

Everyone is trying to create some drama.
Often some high-scholl kids who later can tell their friend in school: "look, my post on GFY last night got 124 replies".

You're under 500 posts so not much at the moment ($50 max?) - most folks look for at least 500 and others have minimums of 2k, 3k, or even 6k posts before they'll consider advertising in your sig.

The type of posts you do counts as well... if you just post smileys you're worth less, but if you actually *reply* and chat you're contributing and that's worth more.

Then there's the folks that do things like starting shit about Lady Mischief just to get signature views; they're what's causing the downfall of the board (in my not so humble opinion) but then again there's always people like Pimpdog who don't care what their business names are attached to and will pay for that.

Polish, look at the crap that Sig Whore started tonight, and Pimpdog is offering to pay $1k for his sig. Doesn't matter if Pimpdog *is* Sig Whore or not; by offering to pay for it he's encouraging those types of posts and supporting them. He *wants* his name and his program's name connected to those types of posts.

Just because he's not making them himself (and he has started plenty tonight that were way over the line) doesn't remove him from the responsibility, you know?

I remember when blind links arrived. We've talked about it as well. Blind links killed the TGP surfer, as surfers got constantly fucked with Next and Previous links on the galleries. People then said "We need to stop this madness, Blind Links would kill the adult biz"

If I didn't read/post on GFY what would I do all day? Probably get a lot more done, but it wouldn't be as entertaining.

For a thread where someone asked a question of people who have sold their sigs.. I really don't see very many people in this thread with sold sigs.

Plus, the whole 28 days in February thing is just hilarious. If ever you could wish you could delete one of your dumb ass posts, Funkmaster, that would be one.

Anyway, to answer your question, if people want to advertise their program in my sig, and are willing to pay me for it.. then so be it. I'm not responsible for the quality of GFY posts. It's not my job to moderate the board or to guarantee the "high level of quality threads" for the newbies who want to be involved.

The sig whoring sucks, but like everything else, it's something that will come and go and the only thing that comes next is "the next big thing that everyone does." This is a jungle, and THAT is the circle of life. Hakuna Matata.

I won't be on a whole lot for at least the first part of March anyways.. I'm having the baby March 4th. I do already have something like 600+ posts for this month though, sig unpaid :P But the difference is pretty dramatic.

This baord was a huge resource to me. Now i think it just got a bit harder for newbies as there is very little that people can use on here.
