$200 Design Contest
 

Hey guys,

I need to get an FPA designed and my regular designer is all booked up at the moment so I thought I would throw this out here as a contest. I've uploaded some pics and suggested bullet points at http://www.naughtyallie.com/fpaproject.zip

Here are the basic guidelines that I'm looking for:
-640x480 with a max file size of 75k (smaller would be better if possible)
-Mostly static but some animation to draw attention to the "click-through" would be great.
-My site is a hardcore amateur site so the design should reflect that: MY TOUR

The contest will end on Wednesday, February 11th at midnight EST and I'll select and pay (via PayPal) the winner on Thursday. Obviously I'll only have rights to use the design from the winner of the contest. If there are designs other than the winner that I would like to use I'll contact the designer about purchasing their design.

Hi, I gave it an attempt. Doubt if my entry will win but I am quite curious to see your designer's work. The bump was to get some more people (designers) to participate. :)

hmmmmm....... how come so few entries? it's a bigger prize than most of the design contests here and Allie is hotter than the equator so how come only one design?

'I?d like to start out by saying that I?ve given a lot of consideration to making this post. Airing dirty laundry publicly is definitely not my style however due to the inordinate amount of time I spend dealing with this particular issue I?m bringing it to the boards as a warning to anyone considering stealing from our site! You will be exposed publicly without any notice whatsoever from me; I?ll simply bring the issue to the boards period. Therefore, I suggest you think twice before ?borrowing? anything from us!

Our site has barely been open for 6 months however in this short time period I?ve spent an incredible amount of time e-mailing ?removal requests? to unscrupulous webmasters that have stolen everything from complete paragraphs of text and graphics to entire pages of code from our site. I no longer have the patients nor do I have the time to e-mail you people back and forth requesting removal of stolen property from your sites. I have especially grown tired of your excuses such as, ?oh really, let me talk to my ?webmaster? and see where he got that from?, etc, etc, etc. You know who you are.

What is most surprising to me is that the majority of the offenders are not newbies to the business, most of them are genuine amateur sites that have been in this business for 4+ years. Up until this point I have dealt with all of you privately on a one-on-one basis however as stated earlier I simply do not have the time for this anymore. I prefer to focus my efforts on more productive endeavors such as building a successful site. From this point forward I?ll simply post the copied URL?s to the various webmaster boards and publicly expose you for what you are.

So, here is the first offender to fall under my new policy of public exposure. As an affiliate of MindyBucks I received an e-mail yesterday announcing the launch of hosted galleries for her affiliate program. So, I sent Mindy a request for a PW/UN so that I could grab a couple of her links. Well, when I get there this is what I find:

By the way Mindy, this post also serves as my official request for removal of the stolen intellectual property located on your site(s). Should you choose to ignore the request you may want at least remove the words ?any of? from the sentence that states: ?or link to any of the hosted galleries for this content set below?. You see, if there is only one gallery listed below it?s really not appropriate to say ?any of? now is it?

Of all the stuff that?s been stolen from our site this is definitely the first time the offending webmaster actually e-mailed us an invitation to come and have a look at what they stole from us. Someone is either very bold or extremely stupid, I?m really not sure which."

Some nice designs posted. Allie, I didn?t compress the jpg on my entry but it can be compressed to your requirements without loosing much quality.

TurboAngel, do you have a link to Jake?s post/statement? I would like to read it myself since I don?t follow all boards and thought Allie was the webmaster and not her husband. Thanks.
