I think the lad in Full Metal Jacket when he goes nuts in the toilet is freaky.

for the life of me i can't think of anything all that disturbing in a mainstream movie. guess i'm too jaded.

i guess when the cockroaches come out of that guy in Creepshow is pretty disturbing but that could just be cuz it freaked me out so much as a kid.

oh and the scene where jack nicholson get's his nose cut by roman polankski in chinatown always makes me cringe. but i dunno if that's really "disturbing".

The rape scene in Irreversible. Unflinchingly brutal.

I freaked out the first time the man pulled his face off, in the film Poltergeist.

I did not drink milk for weeks after the Alien popped out of that chaps chest in Alien.

In "Happiness" when the son asks the father why the father molested the son's friend but not the son and cries in rejection in a "is it because you don't you love me?" way.

yep happiness has this thing hands down.. history X's curbjaw is just violence... not a fucked up psychological disturbance permeating the atmosphere from the screen as a pedo talks to his son about ejaculation.

American History X is a good one, but for me higher scenes are:

the scene in the Serpent and the Rainbow when the guy gets buried alive

in Fatal Attraction when the woman is absent-mindedly picking at her own thigh with the kitchen knife

the killing of the water buffalo at the climax of Apocalypse now

Cannot remember the name of the movie.. it's an older one... But the scene is in a mental hospital and they have someone strapped into the dentist chair. Next scene, there is a chisle on the 2 front teeth of this person and BAM!!!! the hammer comes down... chilling.

I think its a Walt Disney film about two dogs that get lost.

They go on a long journey, but almost at the end, the white dog gets run over and killed. When I saw that I cried all day long and stuffed my dog full of biscuits and other goodies.

I hate films where animals get killed. But that is the worst one.

What makes it even worse, is that the other dog pulls the dead dog off the road. The dog is pure white but is covered in blood. Just thinking about this film is upsetting me.

There is an old Sic Fi film, where the Aliens have landed but are underground.

They take over the humans by putting something into there necks.

The freaky bit of the film is when the people walk out into the field, then you hear that freaky sound just as they get pulled down.

That is one scary film.

I think at the end it was 'all just a dream'.

End of Titanic, when she drops the Jewel into the sea. I cried for ages seeing that being thrown away.

Plus what a dope killing himself to save her in the sea. I would have saved myself - stuff her. Plenty of girls in the USA.

Check out a japanese flick called "Audition".....at the end the girl tortures this dude with acupuncture needles, its very disturbing.

Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, the end of Seven and the whole, "What's in the box!" scene. And anything involving the riverdance. I know it's not a movie but that shit is just disturbing.

The woman drowned in feces scene in Dead or Alive is worse than anything in Ichi.

Plenty of Takashi Miike fans on GFY. I own most of his vids on DVD if anyone ever wants to watch them. Good stuff.


Happiness tops off the eerie factor for me though. The Father/Son "chats" disturbed the hell out of me. Watched it with a group of buddies, had a couple friends go through relapses on this one. I was irked.
