Profits HUGE from $10.00 sites

Who would have figured that lowering a membership site
to $10.00 from $29.95 would actually raise the members
base and profits.

I tested this for the last month.

Sales doubled and tripled and... the members
base grew overnight.

Retention jumped to 65 to 75%!!!

Wow.. in a few months, we will be kicking ass
with this tour.

Oh well, back 2 work!

NBDesign 02-06-2004 11:11 PM

Yea, 10.00 sites really kick ass :thumbsup

Joshua 02-06-2004 11:13 PM

Yah, I was actually gonna try it 2 years ago and never got around to it. :(

Mr Pheer 02-06-2004 11:18 PM

heh maybe I should actually do something with my 9dollarporn.com sites

J.R. 02-06-2004 11:22 PM

I was bored one night so I calleded up Epoch
and got a code for 10.00 and 10.00 recurring.

Joins JUMPED overnight.. if this continues, we will
make more money in just a few months then if
we sat for 1 year with this tour.

I couldn't believe it.

Joshua 02-06-2004 11:24 PM

It was only time for all to see.. :)

JensMoviePost 02-06-2004 11:25 PM

$10 is nothing to spend so conversions should improve as well as rebills with a lower membership fee.

Concern though is having 3x the users accessing your content. Bandwidth bills and those content plugins billed based on # of users would increase.

gleem 02-06-2004 11:34 PM

I was only converting at 1:1000 with my membership at $39.95 a month, so I dropped my price to $10 and now I am doing 1:300!!!! Joins jumped 300%! It's amazing!! $10 rules!

(this board needs a good eyes rolling smilie)

xxxice 02-06-2004 11:42 PM

Any reccuring $10 sites for webmasters to promote ?

So actually with - let's say - 100k traffic you made $3,995 before and are now making $3,333 :Graucho

J.R. 02-07-2004 12:13 AM

I was thinking of doing that $10 recurring.. it could be huge!

SLAiN787 02-07-2004 12:15 AM

Nice! :thumbsup

you're not seeing the big picture

those $10 rebills will last longer, in time he is making more money on the same traffic

Stewie 02-07-2004 12:19 AM

Nice. What types of sites/content do you think work best for a $10 deal?

Your trials were already $7 or $8 so jumping to $10 wasn't that big of a thing....but seeing what kind of long term retention you can get with $10 a month will be interesting.

goBigtime 02-07-2004 12:53 AM

Anyone want:

10 Buck Fuck.com
Ten Buck Fuck.com

10 Buck Fucks.com
Ten Buck Fucks.com

:glugglug

the indigo 02-07-2004 01:02 AM

This is just plain stupid.

Yes retention is longer because pretty much no site offer these yet... with the quality.

Once all sites will offers $10 monthly members, people will leech and move on the other $10 paysite so the rebills will be pretty much the same.

Bottom line is $39.95 is too high and $10 is too low. Stick to 24.95

I love watching people do something good then taking every step to insure that it is blown so far out of the water it doesn't work good anymore.

Bravo!

GonePhishing 02-07-2004 01:17 AM

I've never tried them at that price, but I imagine I will at some point.

You obviously haven't seen the domains I reg'd. :glugglug

Digipimp 02-07-2004 01:24 AM

Additionally I would think if a surfer is willing to sign up at $30 there's no doubt they are willing to rebill provided you are offering what you said you were offering and making sure you update regularly. Why would retention be so much better at $10, maybe slightly better but over time it will even out. People aren't buying at $10 because you've just presented them something so great they have to get their cards out, half of them are buying because it's cheap and they can cancel in a month if it sucks.

J.R. 02-07-2004 01:39 AM

We offer all the same content as many other members
rebilling at 29.95 and 39.95

I think 10.00 will prove to offer longer retention.

Hell, a porno mag in a store is 5 to 8 each.

And pay per view porn is $8 for a couple hours. People can pay for what they want. This is the slowest industry I have ever seen to realize that.

BVF 02-07-2004 02:00 AM

Stick to $19.95. Not to high, not too low, it's under twenty bucks.

Nice, safe, and middle of the road.

I did try that, 1 week at 10 per month and the 19.95
and the 10 joins still had more sales and retention..

weird shit..

Trent Edison 02-07-2004 02:58 AM

I hardly believe this bullshit. Mathematics are against it.

Calvinguy 02-07-2004 03:07 AM

How can you be surpriced with all that free porn. My most expensive site cost 22.95 a month and is doing great :glugglug

biskoppen 02-07-2004 03:18 AM

What will happen the day all sites charges $10 a month and members starts to rebill like they did at $29.95 - profit will be lost, businesses will be killed..

Will it be easy to make them pay $29.95 again then ?

Maybe you're making the surfers used to something you really don't want at the moment..

Just some thoughts..

Then you'll see posts on how $5 sites retain 3 times better than $10 ones. :glugglug

goBigtime 02-07-2004 03:37 AM

Maybe $10 porn is a conspiracy the big guys put together to keep you from being profitable enough to compete with them :Graucho

Wrong. I pay my members for every month they stay and so far my retention is 99.999999999%.

One guy died and his wife cancelled.

Damn you. I thought we agreed not to talk about the next big thing. :)

cluck 02-07-2004 03:48 AM

No no no no. See the winning formula is $10 signups and $100 rebills.

Centurion 02-07-2004 03:59 AM

You all are really in the dark.

My $1.00 sites are like killing!! :) :)
