Its very difficult to do. A lot of these are undercover animal rights people that go in and have to pretend that hurting animals doesn't bother them and they just want to make a home video for the fun of it.

I've seen that one. The sounds of the dogs gasping for air as they are being suffocated to death is enough to resonate in your ears for months.

The problem is irresponsible pet population policies. People are allowed to breed dogs and cats at their leisure.

Tens of millions of dogs and cats end up without homes and the communities don't have the room, staff or money to care for them.

The only solution is to make pet owners spay and neuter their pets.

Annually about 3 to 4 million dogs and a like number of cats go to shelters each year in the US for a total of 6 to 8 million animals.

About half are adopted, the other half are euthanized.

So about 10,000 dogs and cats are put down for no reason every single day.

Pretty primative way of doing things. Almost seemed like a backwoods hick kind of way of dealing with a problem but I am sure the inner cities werent/arent much better. Sad indeed.

This video is one of the best arguments for adopting pets from shelters instead from breeders (or even worse a petstore).

I don't know why that's bad. That is an easy way to go. i've watched people die of cancer that suffered for over 6 months, they would have loved to go that easy. It's fast and painless, it's the equivelant of falling asleep. Peta is a liberal piece of shit organization who thinks that somehow animals have more rights than humans. Fuck them. Those dogs would have died on the street or starved and been in a lot more pain than they were being gassed with carbon monoxide.

The sound is horrible but the dogs die almost instantly. What happens is that when the gas is turned on, they fall over unconcious in less than a minute, usually within about 15 to 30 seconds. At that point, their vocal cords contract and air is forced from their lungs causing that ghastly sound.

The dogs do not struggle to get out. They do not lay there awake and screaming. The pass out and die and then you hear the sound.

Seen it in real life more times than I care to think about and I can assure you that despite the sound, those dogs never knew what hit them.

Those things happens everyday live with it!

Those things happen because of lazy and irresponsible owners. No reason for it at all. A dog shouldn't have to die because someone was "moving" and had to give it up.

Actually PETA fakes a lot of it's videos.
And a lot of the info surrounding the videos.
And for the guy that says he's seen this happen in real life, umm, BULLSHIT.

First fact. Carbon monoxide is called the silent killer for a reason. It's victims grow drowsy, and fall asleep. They don't howl, scream or writhe in pain like those dogs in the box. This is why it's the suicide of choice in america (why do you think people are found in garages with their cars running but no one in their house heard anything other then a car start?)

Second fact. Carbon monoxide does NOT displace air. So that crap about them drawing a big breath and screeching is bullshit as well. Freon might do that, it's a heavy gas, but likely not in one breath. And if it was a heavy enough gas like freon to force oxygen out, it wouldn't vibrate the vocal cords like that. (think opposite of helium)

Third fact. Vocal cords don't contract. They vibrate as air moves over them, even in death, they are stationary. What you're attempting to explain is "death rails" or the last gasp..and that's what it is, a gasp. Usually caused because nature doesn't like a vacumm, and air rushes in to fill the lungs. Any air "leaking" from a body at this point doesn't have force of muscle behind it and wouldn't make much noise at all.

I've seen it hundreds, maybe thousands of times. Have you seen it once? Each time it is the same. The dog would sit there, he'd fall over, and a minute or so later you'd hear the wails. By the time the dog fell over he would be completely unconcious. They do not suffer.

Also glad I didn't click the link. Peta is sick like that. They spend millions on propaganda and a tiny fraction on saving animals. In fact, they mostly put animal pets to sleep, so money should be donated to the humane society or the ASPCA, not Peta.

Peta has a goal of eliminating all Pets, since they believe dogs, cats and others should not be domesticated, but rather roam wild and free.

I don't care what other people are saying about PETA and blah blah blah...that was a horrible thing to watch, I couldn't watch all of it. made me sick. To see that kinda stuff happening to any kind of animal is just wrong. I personally love dogs and it really hurts to see something like happen.
