Gfy Sig Rules ? <--
 

Lately i have noticed sigs getting bigger and bigger , just wondering if we could get a little more clarification on the rules for sigs.

Signature rules.

Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of default size and color.
If your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 468x60 instead of a 120x60. Also putting your text in a cell and making it look like a button is against the rules. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.

Almost everyone breaks these rules in some sort of way or another , perhaps you could clarify or update the sig rules.

Can we use "links" that are of a different color than default ?

Can we use "text" thats a different color than default ?

Can we use tables , text boxes , etc ?

Can we use line breaks ?

Can we use our sigs to promote an agenda rather than a program ? ( i.e. PAYPAL SUCKS )

Is there a limit to the amount of links we may use in the sig ?

I have added some sigs that dont follow the above rules in some way or another below.

Im not railing on the people with sigs that dont follow the rules , as mine may/may not follow the rules as stated above, just curious as to what we can use in the future , and if the sig rules plan on being modified/enforced anytime soon.

Uhm smokey, lets start with you. As i choose to have sigs turned off i dont really appreciate it yours is still showing. I never said anything about this cuz it isnt a biggie but since you bitch about sigs how about you stop trying to get passed my gfy settings. Thanks.

I was referring to the fact that i already explained that my sig breaks the rules , or may break the rules. I just was wondering GFY's response.

For this time I have to agree with the bear. GFY looks like a fucking xmas tree with all those sigs you guys have. That includes you smokey.

I started off with a little bitty sig , then i noticed that all the gfy users with high sig counts were breaking the rules in minor ways, so i made one that fit, but now i notice sigs getting out of hand. I was just hoping to get some feedback on how sigs are percieved, and the future of sig's on gfy.

I agree , although i like my sig and i dont make any money promoting anything in my sig and never have. Obviously thats no reason to break the rules , neither is the fact that everyone else is breaking the rules , although i am leaning towards the last one.

The rules arent very clear ( ok yes they are fairly clear ) but they arent moderated very often.

Smokey can you answer me? Its kinda annoying that if i chose to have sigs turned off im still seeing yours. Why cant you just stick to the gfy rules?

Come on, stop messing around you know what i mean. You are bypassing the board settings. If i turn sigs off that means i dont want to see sigs...that button isnt there just for the hell off it.

Yes i know there is no "rule" which says you cannot bypass the settings but i think its simply a matter of board ethics.

Well cant you just put your sig where it should be like everyone else so i dont have to see it. These settings were made for things like this and i really dont appreciate it that you bypass them. Thanks.

btw if you go into your sig and take out the line break your sig space wont show the blank lines in it.

Yep they are in violation, but I guess I can't bitch too much.Usually the mods eventually get around to removing them

Ok, I know that is weak as hell, but still - breaking the rules.

I also think you may be breaking the size rule. It says only a 120x60 button - and you do not have that. What you have looks (but is not, I know) a banner size size.

Yes i know i posted the rules above, i also stated that i am aware my sig doesnt completely follow the above rules, only general conduct on GFY. I was stating i would like some clarification as im only using examples that are already widely in use on gfy. Quite a few of the people i posted above are regulars here and i would assume if gfy/lensman didnt like the sigs , they would have shut them off by now.

If im to follow the rules as posted above i would hope lensman/mods would do a general cleanup and make it fair to do so.

No i just picked the first 8 i could find open any big thread and you will spot just as many, and i also pointed out that mine was also in slight violation of the terms as they are stated.

3 of those people i know and like, i'm not tryng to rat anyone out as anyone with gfy access can open any thread and spot the same sigs's as i ponted out.
