underrated or little-known movies
 

Some off the top of my head that are worth checking out:

Frequency - Saw it on a plane a couple years ago and was suprised that is was good. Dennis Quaid in a sort of time travel thing but it works.

Strange Days - Much underrated sci/fi thriller with Ralph Finnes

Twin Falls Idaho - Strange, David Lynch style movie about conjoined twins that go to Twin Falls Idaho in hunt of their birth mother.

84 Charing Cross Road - old, very gentle but good film with Anthony Hopkins and Ann Banhahahahaha.

Anyone have some to add?

Donnie darko is pretty good.


Momento rocks too.

I keep trying to see Donnie Darko but always miss it. Memento is a fantastic film.

Memento is great, but its not little-known lol

Anna And The King with Jodie Foster and Chow Yun Fat.

Caligula is a good one if you're into strange, sexual, dark, etc.

Glengarry Glen Ross

great actors in that movie

Strange Days and Frequency are two movies I loved too, way too
underrated.

Malcolm Mcdowell in his time was seriously hot..plus it was a Penthouse product.

and for those who only watch the movies at theaters or new dvd releases, you gotta check out some of the classic masterpieces like:

A clockwork orange
One flew over the cuckoos nest
Apocalypse Now
The Shining
Monty Phython and The Holy Grail
2001: A Space Odyssey
etc...

Strange Days definitely was underrated.

Resident Evil didn't get the accolades it deserved either.

The Cube was also a great movie.

Aswang, a horror movie from 1994. I had never heard of it until it was released on DVD recently.

Mullholland Drive or any film by David Lynch is one to watch (eraserhead or the twin peaks series)

Event Horizon is one i love and if you want good laughs over and over again The Big Lebowski is one of the best movies that have ever hit the white screen

The trilogy Blue, White and Red by Krzysztof Kieslowski are some of my favorites that aren't very well known. :)

I just thought of:

The Taking of Pelham One Two Three - one from the 70's with Walter Matthau ..good heist movie. I'm suprised it hasn't been remade and destroyed.

FRAILTY -

i cannot tell to many people to go see this movie, i went to see it with a friend in the theaters knowing absolutley nothing about it. it seemed boring then suddenly the entire has a twist that leaves u amazed.

Go pick this movie up its been out on rent for a while, u will not be dissapointed.

october sky - classic but family film

Not many underrated/little-known movies in here...

Brazil would be a good one, although it isn't really little-known either. Frailty, as mentioned above, is fantastic. Boondock Saints is pretty good too.

Oh, and ofcourse pretty much anything by Takeshi Kitano :thumbsup

Clerks by Kevin Smith is one of my favorites !!:thumbsup black and white featuring the likes of Jay and Silent Bob: the first in the series that includes other really great flicks: Chasing Amy, Mallrats, Dogma..........woohoo!
