Leaving las vegas was good but I didn't find it particularly special. Then again I don't particularly like him as an actor... possibly it's just the perponderance of shitty roles he's had.

before it he was doing stuff like Peggy Sue got married and Shue was still the girlfriend from Karate Kid. He did a good job in it but then went back to shitty roles. Adaptation gave me hope again.

pulp fiction
goodfellas
true romance
braveheart
four rooms
desperado
terminator 2

Adaption is a killer flick

bena1975ca 12-16-2003 06:03 PM

Tough one, there've been a lot of good movies in the 90's. I'd definitely be tempted to go for The Matrix, but then John Grisham had a lot of good movies.

I don't think I could pick one, there's too many genres to choose from. I think my top 10 (for different reasons) would have to be:

The Matrix - Most kick-ass movie of the 90's
Rob Roy - Most honorable character
Independance Day - Most inspiring speech
Gone in 60 Seconds - Hottest cars
The Thomas Crowne Affair - Ballsiest criminal act
The Hurricane - If we can extend the 90's to 2000 - Most inspiring character in the face of adversity

meh...I can't be bothered to think of the last 4.

as far as Leaving Las Vegas, it's one of my favorite films (and by far the best film with Cage). Adaptation was good, but it was no Leaving Las Vegas imho.

The Shawshank Redemption

When compared to other films where an actor/actress played multiple characters I will say this Adaption was the most believable. He did a hell of a job playing to himself.

Adaptaion was such a writer's movie. I am werid because I always get to the place where I can just about see the words on the screen anyway but in that one I could almost see the screenwriter typing every word.
