Depends on wehat you are talking about when you say "best concert" you've seen. If it's for the total atmoshere it is The Grateful Dead with the Steve Miller Band as the opening act at Soldier Field in Chicago. Was back on June 25th 1992 and it was one hell of a time. :rasta Talk about one hell of a fun atmoshere.
music wise I just saw the Eagles in concert last month and it was fucking incredible!! They played all the great Eagles songs as well as stuff that individual members of the band did on their own. They were absolutely great musically but I didn't party like I did at The Dead!! :winkwink: |
family values 98
korn orgy limpbizkit rammstein icecub (wtf?) havent been to many since, but that was memorable |
Has noone been to an acdc concert ??

David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails on stage together :) http://www.camchicks.tv/gfyshow2.jpg Genitorturers their 18+ live shows are more hardcore than your paysites ;) .. guys getting jack daniels enemas (bottles up the ass), mock castrations .. where the testicals are sewn over the penis so that if he gets a hardon it rips the stiches. .. cruxifixions.. lots of nudity.. lots of blood.. (all ages shows are tamer, depending on venue) |
Gang Green, The Meatmen, The Circle Jerks & The Cro-Mags, separately between 88 & 90. Those were good times.
One of the most memorable shows ever was The Exploited on "the Massacre" tour. Wattie got pissed at security for throwing a kid out for stage diving, so he jumped off stage in the middle of a song and followed them outside and starting arguing with the security guy. He came back in and told everyone to get up on stage. I got to sing "Sex & Violence" with Wattie as the power was cut to the stage. I managed to get out just as the cops arrived. |
Buffalo NY 1968
Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention with Simon and Garfunkel |
and the best band to see live is (of course)

Currently, my all time favorite show was Soulfly/Pantera at the House of Blues in Orlando :) |
Seeing the line up un Perfect Circle was awesome.
Anyone see the deftones? I wanna see them. |
Rolling Stones
Deep Purple Vangelis and couple others I missed Pink Floyd's in Egypt's pyramids (31, Dec 1999) because it wasn't sure till the last hours if they would appear or not. :( CamChicks, that's a disturbing concert |
pearl jam & coldplay :thumbsup
|
The Bouncing Souls put on an amazing high energy show
|

Not in order.
Judas Priest AC/DC - Nothing like a wall of speakers Skid Row Mercyful Fate/King Diamond Metalica - Ride The Lightening Tour Dio Iron Maiden The concerts during the 80s make the concerts now look like family get togathers. |
Emerson, Lake and Palmer (early 70's)
Black Sabbath (1970) Aerosmith 2001 (?) rank among the tops Neil Young, The Who, Jethro Tull, Stones, Steppenwolf, Alice Cooper were all good shows too. |

I think they blew a great opportunity to make a name for themselves that night. |
The one I least expected...
Everclear, with Marcy Playground and Fastball opening. Fastball and MP sucked shit, but Everclear put on a fuken wicked show (it was the So Much For The Afterglow tour, so no AM Radio bullshit). Green Day would be a second best, although I was pissed off that Foo Fighters copied them and lit their drums on fire the same day. Get your own act! |
INXS
U2 Beautiful South - doubt anyone on here would know them though |
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
was sensational!! They are a group of some of the most talented musicians I have ever seen. :thumbsup |
followed the Grrateful Dead for years... enough said
saw the Rolling Stones with about 7 other people in Toronto; they were practicing for their upcoming world tour and my best friend had just been a producer on their record so we got to hang and watch... met em all, jolly fine chaps, except that Keith fellow is a mite gruff...they played every song i could've possibly dreamed to hear.. ("paint it black", "gimme shelter", etc... only the good stuff...) Crash Worship... one hell of an insane bachannal and because they inspired folks from NIN to Genitorturers with their raucousness.... Metallica at the Playboy mansion with a couple hundred people, many of them pals, for the "Orgazmo" premiere party P-Funk Allstars/ Parliament Funkadelic because they jam like the dead were born funky... Mooky Blailock, in a bar, right before changing their name to "Pearl Jam" and becoming famous. My wife grew up with a few of the seattle cats in the band and my friend was the opening act (Sweetwater) before them and Alice in Chains which was the headliner for the night at a club in seattle called the Offramp... the sign from the club and a plaque commemorating the evening can be found at the Experience Music Project. plenty more... but that is a start... |
Depeche Mode :)
|
ZZ Top put on the best performance I've ever seen and I don't even like thier music that much. They just put on a damn good show.
Other then that a 3 day concert I went to in Germany once called Rock Am Ring was pretty bad ass. 3 days of camping, concerts and nonstop partying. |

Seattle was pretty cool in the 90s during the music scene. I used to go drinking with Jimi Hendrix dad Al and brother at a motorcycle bar down in Renton. Lived just 3 houses from Anthony (Sir-Mix-Alot). I still have a recording studio up there. |
Dream Theater and Queensryche in Seattle. OMFG. I left a wet seat and literally had to have help leaving the Paramount.
Type O Negative and Lacuna Coil made for a good show, too. :thumbsup |
Pink Floyd Oh The Flying Pigs.....
|

Sanctuary/Nevermore is another good band to watch live and Cradle of Filth |
Stone Temple Pilots and Less Than Jake
|
One of the Prince's Trust concerts at the Albert Hall in the late 80's. Mark Knopfler, Phil Collins, Joe Cocker, Peter Gabriel, Eric Clapton and others.
But the hottest guy that night was Ray Cooper doing Clapton's percussion. Man he was on fire! I don't remember which song any more, but at one point everyone just let him go by himself for 5 or 10 minutes. Amazing stuff... and I don't think I ever saw anyone look like he was enjoying himself as much. |

The good old days would be a lot gooder if heroin had never come into that scene, imo... but oh well... live like a rock star... die like a rock star |
Best Show Ever:
The Pixies, 1991 Jammed up against the stage: front and center So awesome. |
1. Kiss (Detroit Olympia Stadium 1978)
2. The Who (LA Forum - Performing Quad... 1996? 97?) 3. Neil Young (LA Sports Arena 1997?) 4. Black Sabbath Reunion (LA Forum 1998?) There are others I am forgetting. |
Metallica with the Symphony on DVD! DAMN IT'S AMAZING!
