Do you believe in the death penalty?
 

I know this is like beating a dead horse but given the circumstances (Muhammad/Malvo). The morning show that I listen to this morning brought the point that it would be worse for Muhammad to rot in jail the rest of his life instead of sending him to his maker. So what do you think?

death penalty gives people the peace of mind that he is never getting back out into society. for that, i'm all for it.

Death is not really a punishment.. Would you care if you're dead? Maybe only during the time you wait for it.

I wish our country had the balls to have the death penalty.

I'm all for the death penalty, I just wish more people would think about that when they are murdering other human beings. Besides, I'm from Texas, of course I support it!!!

even if one innocent person ever was executed with this justice system, it is an unacceptable tolerance for the death penalty to exist. try not to be so narrowminded and don't look at this situation on a case by case basis.

Many, many years ago I was attacked by three people and nearly beat to death. I was in the hospital for three months.

Every year I get a nice letter reminding me that these three people are up for parole. And every year I write back and remind the legal system exactly what these people did to me.

Putting these three to death would have been too good for them. Instead, I'd rather have them rot in jail where every day when they get their salad tossed they are reminded of what they did to me.

Its kind of tough not to be narrowminded about this topic. Especially if it was someone close to you. I wasn't affected by the shootings but passion is running high with this case.

Its easy to be against the death penalty. All i can say is . What would you think if your mother got raped and killed? you would want to kill the man yourself,but would settle for the government to do it.

Some people were saying that killing these people was like "saving" them. they believe that they were put on the earth do what they did and by killing them it is a way of "freeing them". That is the only way I think I would let one of these bastards rot in jail.

I'm for the death penalty. Eye for an eye. However, I hope they are convicted beyond a reasonable doubt... it would be horrible for someone innocent to be put to death, but it would be even worse to do a life sentence, knowing you are innocent.

If someone kills someone or more than one person, they should pay with their own life. It may not make up for them taking the life of someone else, but why should we all be forced to pay taxes to keep them alive in prison? Rehabilitation is a fuckin joke. Maybe for thieves, drug dealers etc... murder? No that's in your blood.

They get way too many years to appeal shit too. 10 years extra to rot in jail while the victim's families linger with grief.

I don't think anyone should have the ability to choose if someone else lives or dies... But that makes handling convicted murderers/rapists/etc difficult, so instead I would propose to make prisons harsh. Stop wasting money on inmate's comfort. Throw convicted murderers into a dark hole where they can sit and eat slime and shit for the next 50 years, and not cost taxpayers too much.

Up here in Canada inmates are happy when they make it into Club Fed... You get go study in the prison library, earn a degree, golf, watch TV, etc, all on the taxpayer's bill. Fucking bullshit.

I only believe in the death penalty for murderers, rapists and politicians...

Eye for an eye would be great... If you are going to put someone to death... fuck these sissy methods... I say that the person should die in the same fashion that they killed their victim.... let them experience what they put that person through.

It's been proven time and time again that our justice system is anything but infallible and in a lot of cases prejudicial as well as slanted in the government's favor.

Too many people have been found to be innocent in recent years of many crimes and serving differnet forms of punishment up to and including being on death row that should make anyone question whether or not we as "evolved" beings should continue this practice.

Even in cases where we think there is irrefutable evidence that the person is guilty there is always room for doubt. Maybe not in their innocence, but in the belief that we can judge with 100% certainty that we can make the ultimate decision to take their life.

Science may be exact, but there is always a human behind that science. And with humans there will always be emotions and motives and with that there will always be room for errors whether they be in actions or judgements, accidental or on purpose.

So no, I am not "for the death penalty."
