A big fuck you to all the anti-matrix people.
What proof do you guys have that matrix <i>gave</i> your information away? None of us know how Acacia got a hold of it. And when Matrix say they didn't hand it over, considering their track record in the business, i have a fair bit of faith that they're telling the truth. That list could have been stolen. I don't see anyone jumping to the conclusion that Acacia are a bunch of unscrupulous fucks that will do <i>anything</i> to send out a few more packets and pick up some more licenses. You guys are absolute fuckwits. :321GFY

another matrix/acacia thread....
|
:sleep I understand its all coincidence No doubt
|
well theres three options.
a. they gave it to acacia b. they were hacked etc and acacia bought a stolen list c. they sold it to another company which sold it to acacia a and c are both pretty bad and b is pretty unlikely. Their silence on this dosent help either. Their unwillingness to get in front of what really happend seems to be so that something they dont want to be public info dosent get out. |
if matrix does not sue acacia for using stolen db, than they are guilty. They have to prove that they did not hand over the database. The only way to prove is to sue acacia.
|
While folks debate the origins of the "list" (I personally believe the names came from multiple sources), one should stick with the known facts...the primary fact being, Matrix Content settled with Acacia. That alone says a lot about the company... :(

I just think it's fucking incredible that so many people see to think the only possible conclusion is that matrix <b>gave</b> away the information. I'm not saying they didn't. I don't know. And that's the fucking point. None of us <b>know</b>. But you won't see me jumping to any conclusions. This lynch mob is a joke.

<i><b>"uncertainty about how the info came to Acacia"</b></i> |
If Matrix told us that they would work closely with people who received the Acadia package to get the most information possible to sue Acadia, I don't think people would slash them.
They just put themselve in the corner the way they currently handle this. That's their fucking problem. |
Am I a Anti-Matrix person?
Or a don't give a fuck person? Or a Pro-Matrix person? Hmmmm.... Decisions....Decisions....:) |
I never dealt much with Matrix - but there is NO doubt in my mind that they gave away their DB to Acacia.
Latest evidence, a well known graphic designer just got an Acacia letter in, and it was addressed to a FORMER employee. This employee's name was used ONLY once... Can you guess with what company? You can choose to do business with them, or not - I personally do not care. But to put your head in the sand, and ignore the facts just shows IGNORANCE. Do business with Matrix, but do not defend the undefensable... You only lose credibility. |
Whatever actually went down. None of the ways would make me or anyone else around here a happy camper.
We trust our personal info to a lot of companies. Being in adult entertainment is a sensitive issue for many of us. Many have friends and family who don't have a clue they are in the biz. So when letters start showing up in your mailbox notifying you you are infringing on a patent, in the adult business, and will be sued, and its because someone either gave up your info, sold your info, or didn't protect your info and now their actions are going to cost you fucking money and time, you have the god damn fucking right to be totally pissed off, deserving of an explaination of how it happened, and have every right to exercise your legal rights and sue for damages. Sorry, but if someone fucking tries to play legal bullshit games with me they'll get it back 10 times over. I'm the unrelenting type when someone says I've done something wrong when I know I haven't. The majority of webmasters here I'd bet share this philosophy. SO RIGHT NOW I WANT SOME FUCKING DAMN ANSWERS. And I don't see them coming from the parties being addressed. |

Let's simplify this argument. If it was handed over, everyone will be pissed off. If it was sold, everyone will be pissed off. If it was stolen, everyone will be pissed off. This is a no win situation for Matrix right now. Whatever went down, its all bad. |

you gonna go through life being a lackey chodadog?
Have you seen the MOUNTAIN of evidence people have posted here and on other boards that they strongly believe, in many cases are 100% certain that the only source for their personal info was Matrix. It is incumbent on Matrix NOT webmasters to prove they had nothing to do with it and they have been unwittingly used. Are you so naive that you would think Bentley would do or say anything other than what he has thus far? He's asked webmasters to prove to him that Matrix is the source - TOTALLY DIS - IN - FUCKING - GENUOUS! Tons of webmasters without any previous grudges against Matrix have posted to Bentley that they are sure Matrix is the source - hell Jayman and Lil2Rich have posted screencaps - Jayman's mispelling of Netpond is damning evidence. But what does Bentley do, threaten him with a lawsuit. Bentley has been asked on the board here who owns Matrix Content besides himself. And he's avoided that question. He's also alluded to a DMCA department that would have access to the customer database - but he won't name what that means and who those people are. I've heard from people I trust that Bentley wouldn't do what he is being accused of - BUT i've also been told Bentley does or should have that information. As for Matrix's reputation as 'good guys' - notice how many times Bentley has referred to 'being left holding the bag by BABENET' - can anybody here say anything positive about BABENET? No. What were such 'good guys' doing involved in BABENET's shady practices? I've said it before 'you sleep with dogs, don't be surprised when you get fleas'. He has the chance to present to webmasters a viable explanation as to how Acacia wound up with that list - but he won't and that's his choice, maybe he's been threatened - but it is galling that he throw this back onto webmasters. How can a webmaster prove what he says he can't? Oh riiiiiiiiiight, he needs people to call him so he can get to the bottom of this ............... Jayman: Hullo? Can I speak to Norman Bentley? Secretary: Ok sir,who may I ask is calling and what is this about? Jayman: My name's Jayman and it's about Acacia Secretary: Thank you I'm putting you through to Mr. Bentley now Norman: Hi Jayman Jayman: Hello Norman, you asked me to call Norman: Yes I did, thank you Jayman: So.......... Norman: Well what can you tell me Jayman? I want to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible, I need proof that certain individuals took that list from us - do you have that proof Mr. Jayman? Hmmmm? Jayman: Huh? How the hell am I supposed to know that, all I know is ..... Norman: AHA! You admit you don't knowanything but you took it upon yourself to defame me and my company on GFY Jayman: Dude, yer nuts. I posted on GFY...... evidence, a screencap of my Matrix Content account, a misspelling of Netpond as my username that matched exactly what was on the letter from Acacia, you saw it - what more can I tell you Norman: You can start by telling me who stole my fucking list! But you won't because you have an agenda to ruin my reputation Jayman! You and all the others making up your stories! You have been NO help! I may sue you ..... tread lightly boy .......... **************************************** this is so fucking ridiculous ......... bottom line it's now up to Bentley to prove he personally had nothing to do with this and the only way he does that is throwing light on who else had access to that list and why. And enough of this inane 'disgruntled employee' scenario - that's lame. From what I've been told Norman is probably speaking the truth when it comes to himself not aiding and abetting the enemy but it's time to stop protecting who is. |
i am sorry. i can't believe my designer copied your site. i was both shocked and appauled when it was called to my attention. he has been fired already. it will never happen again.
:sleep :sleep :sleep |
Said it before, I'll say it again.... Matrix really needs to get a PR person on the boards who can cool down the fire in a professional manner.
|
It's obvious that it's Matrix' list... My opinion is that they were definitely involved in handing it to Acacia - Acacia are lowlifes but they're smart lowlifes. They wouldn't steal lists from companies, they settled with Matrix pure and simple. Matrix took a chance, they got caught and now they're fucked.
|
fuck matrix. who cares if they have a PR person or not. Some people would believe ANYTHING that industry old-timers spew out of their mouths instead of realistic scenarios. C'mon now, acacia hackers? Give me a fucking break. More like a *business decision* on their part.

If they had such a person, one thing he/she could ask is how many other people - like myself - are in Matrix database but have NOT had a packet from Acacia. Taking the claims that have appeared here at face value, the Matrix database would appear to be the culprit. However I have some trouble believing Acacia (or anyone else) would filter that database before using it: at least to the extent of excluding US webmasters. |
bye bye matrix :321GFY

that little discussion with jayman is classic, Back to work :glugglug

I know for a fact my info came from Matrix's list being I used a unique info in my account... There are countless other people that have the same proof.. so unless you are calling us all liars then STFU.. sorry to put it so bluntly but you have no clue what you're talking about you are just trying to rally support for your buddies which I can totally understand. But you are dead wrong on this issue. |

I've already made the point that it looks like it's Matrix's list. I'd say that is true beyond a reasonable doubt with the evidence i've seen. So no, i'm not calling anyone a liar for claiming that the info matches, or that the list was sourced from Matrix. It may have been a part of their license deal with Acacia, and Norm is a liar. It might have been stolen directly from Matrix Content's server. An employee might have leaked the list to Acacia. An employee may have leaked or sold the list to a third party, who in turn has sold it to Acacia. Any one of these situations is possible. All i'm saying is that we don't know how Acacia got a hold of that list, yet. Hell, i can't sit here and tell you that they're innocent. I don't know that. But i think we should all wait and give them a chance to figure out what the hell has happened, and how to sort it out. |
Dude If there was 1-5 ppl that thier details were used and only from gfy no one would think to blame matrix. I guess you saw your self that every secound webmaster got a letter and his username/nick with which he registered to matrix content was used.. :thumbsup I say matrix content is blame .
|
mutt does my name on your lips excite you????
for the dozen people icq;n me asking me if I've ever talked to Norman, the answer is nope. ;) My problem is, I don't buy content, and I don't have video. Why did I get a letter from Acacia? |
