I was "alone" for roughly 5 years straight once..... kept telling myself the whole time it was awesome, complete freedom, do what I want, when I want, where I want, it was great....

ive been "alone" for almost 3 years now.. honestly i dont miss having a nag, i mean girlfriend... i cant say that i'm overly joyous to be alone, but im not crying myself to sleep either. it has its advantages and disadvantages

That about sums it up. The 'company' is also very few and far between. Probably the same for some.

Yeah, but you have to take into account that lot of the people in this thread sound like they've just had big break-ups. It doesn't suck if you're coming off something like that. It's smart. I just got divorced last Dec/Jan, and I think it would have been really stupid to run out and jump into another relationship. The breaking up part sucked, but being "alone" has actually been nice.

that's very true.... and everyone needs a different length of time to regroup. I would have been good with about a year. After that it just started sucking. But I got five instead.

i've never been married.

however, since i was 19 yrs old, i've never been without a girlfriend. so basically, i've never been single in the past 10 years (except for a couple months here and there), until early 2002. 4 gf's over those 10 years.

anyway, i'm enjoying the change.

I think I'm kinda the opposite, only had two gf's and they both ended up cheating on me so I'm kinda hesitant to get back into something. Would like to be in a relationship again but those last 2 gf's left me really messed up...
