Some kid stuck his hand out and caused the Florida Marlins to not catch the ball. It could very well cost the Cubs the rest of the season. He will be getting his ass beat by someone. He especially will if someone sends me a screen shot! I'll make sure a few million more people get a close look at him tomorrow.

Mike AI 10-14-2003 07:47 PM

It is part of the game - but this is the PLAYOFFS... and HOMEFIELD!!!!

IF it was a Marlins fan, it would have been cool....

ravener 10-14-2003 07:48 PM

Don't blame the fan. If the shortstop made the play instead of booting it, the inning would have been over with the game tied at best. Instead the fly ball that would have ended the inning was a sacrifice fly leading to the go-ahead run.

But hey. if you look up "loser" in the dictionary, there's a picture of a Cubs fan.

The short stop may not have done that. The Marlins player may not have hit it that way. It changed the entire tempo.

hottoddy 10-14-2003 07:49 PM

I heard it was Grogan.

It was going to be a stellar catch. They are supposed to try and reach over the wall to catch it.

lol, no.

He stuck his hand UP, not out. He did not reach out of the stands, thats why it was not fan interference.

And are you sure it was a kid? He looked like a 45-year old man. But I was too busy laughing my ass off during the replays to be 100% sure.

It wasn't interference but he'll still get lynched. He still fucked it up for Chicago.

yup, very true. It will truly suck if the Cubs lose game 7 like they will game 6

I am sure they will interview the guy/kid later - at the very least they will have it on the highlights after the game.

buzzard 10-14-2003 07:56 PM

didn't look like much of a kid to me either. Regardless, Alou had the ball caught and the fan blew it... it changed the whole game

could you imagine living the rest of you life with that? you'd be the biggest fuck up in baseball history, and you were just a fan. your friends, family, everyone would make fun of you for the rest of your life. jesus.

hottoddy 10-14-2003 08:05 PM

All parties share some blame. The fan incident (which wasn't interference) may have been out #2, but there was also an error, and then a ton of hits. Baker should have pulled the pitcher earlier, but the relief also got shelled. You might argue that the fan was the spark, but that's about it.

Ic3m4nZ 10-14-2003 08:06 PM

All the fans of the cubs should put a nice reward for the head of this fat nerd :ak47:
