Looking to have 100 feeder AVS designed, as well as a hub, as well as 10 banners and 5 gallery templates.

Feeders (100):
I will supply you the content, and they will all follow this structure. May be on 2 or 3 gallery pages -
Splash
Tour 1
Main
Gallery 1
Gallery 2
Gallery 3

Hub (1):
Will have links to all feeders, as well as main plat site. Will be rich in text, and very heavy on promotion using banners, text links, etc.

Banners (10):
Will be designed to promote my main plat site. Some animated, some non, doesnt matter to me as long as they are nice. They will be used on feeder sites you design.

Gallery Templates (5):
Will have 15 pics each that i will supply to you, will follow the theme and color scheme of the main site.

I have a graphics guy, just wanna see if i can get it done cheaper.

If it were me, I would mix the job up among 4 or 5 design companies for a couple reasons:

1) There are a lot of really good design people here... good to spread the love on a big project

2) Sometimes people get burnt out easily on big repetitive jobs for a single client like this. And depending on how low you wind up letting people bid this down to - that time-till-burnout factor will go up as the designers start to feel bad about bidding to low.

3) Most designers have their own unique style... unless you for some reason really like one guys style enough to have it spread out on a hundred sites, you might want to mix it up a bit for varitey.

4) See #2.. but I've found that SOMETIMES, the more you give someone to do at once, the longer it winds up taking them to complete the entire project.

depending on what you need, it could go as low anywhere from 3,000 to 15,000. Of course, 3000 would mean some 15 minutes absolutely simple site. Splash+tour+3 galleries would be more or less the same that those "incredibly cheap" galleries never delivered, if you know what I mean. Well, we'd deliver them, that's out of question, but don't expect much for less than 6 dollars a page ;)

For some graphic splash+tour+3 galleries, then start thinking about 5000 and up. And be warned: we can offer that because we are at an inexpensive country, be very careful with the "magic prices". Slightly more money and fast delivery is always better than paying for nothing or for something made in 1 year :winkwink:

This is good advice on so many levels.

I have a few guys in mind id like to split it up with so far:

mark tiarra, voodoo, BlueDesignStudios, infectd, Demented, Gin, etc.

There are a few people that have listed info and i will email for per-site quotes and also try to get them in the mix.

If i get good enough prices, i may up this order on either the feeders, or the templates .... all depends on the prices for each designer.

Its funny when people laugh at such prices i did the math and for 106 pages i would also charge you 1k for each site. Let me ask you how much are you looking to pay 10k for the whole job?

You can find much cheaper designers with no trouble. I'm aware of that. You don't need to understand it.... it's okay. Not everyone can afford top end work. Alot of people can't even recognize top end work. My guess is you're someone that sees a Honda as being the exact same thing as a Harley except for $15k less. :)

my usual graphics guy

has given me a price of:

feeder: $20
hub: $30
gallery template: $15
banners: $7

added up that is $2,175 for entire job.

I KNOW he does incredible work, and i know he will have a good turnaround time. The only reason why i will not give him the entire job is to avoid similar looking sites.

I can understand a quote of $5k for the job, but $18k?? yes .... thats funny

btw, that's a pretty good price ($122k).... being a bulk rate and all.... Mike W would charge you 3 times that.

If you charge $1k per site for 100+ sites, then you have absolutely NO idea what an AVS Feeder site is and should NOT bid for the job in the first place.

which is why I've never bid on these types of jobs.... I don't cater to the low end. Kmart is down the street.
