The Buffster's Terminator III Review
Obviously, the series should have ended after T2, but you know Hollywood. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being The Hulk or The Crow II City of Angels, and 10 being Black Hawk Down or Saving Private Ryan, I generously give T3 a 2. Yes, that's a bit higher than it deserves, but the uplifting scene of the ICBM re-entries and the ensuing explosions deserves 2 points for artistic beauty.
The long and short of it is that this movie doesn't deserve a full Buff review, so I'll just hit a couple of the finer points: 1. Standing Around -- Look, don't stand around and gawk at shit when you're being chased by a T-X. It's just... well, it's stupid. Along the same lines, don't waste time doling out thank-yous and such in the heat of the battle -- there's plenty of time for that later, when you're not about to get fried with a plasma weapon. 2. Basic General Knowledge -- Magnets erase hard drives, or at the very least, corrupt them. The magnetic field created by a supercollider, if strong enough to melt the metallic skin of a T-X, will probably be strong enough to wipe its (her) hard drives clean. Just my 2 cents. Have any of you ever been tossed 40 feet across a room and landed on a concrete floor or hit a metal cabinet as a result, while not wearing any protective gear? No? Me either, but I've watched some of those home videos of skateboarding and bicycle spills, and I am thinking it's got to be about the same. Translation: Broken bones, lots of blood, concussions, disorientation, unconsciousness, and death are all pretty standard results. 3. General Stupidity -- When you want to assassinate people, don't make a lot of commotion. Sneak up on them and do it. I don't recommend a reckless, highly destructive 45 minute chase through the middle of the city with a half dozen vehicles. And instead of the shoot first, test DNA later method, try the stealthy approach -- for instance pretend to be someone the target might know or have a reason to talk to, and then put two in his/her head. It's not that hard really. Sure, then there's no movie, but if something simple like that can undermine the movie, maybe the movie shouldn't be made in the first place. Oh yeah, and look, if you and the rest of your quick reactionary force (probably a SWAT Team) pump 2000 rounds into what appears to be just a big human being, and he doesn't even flinch, go ahead and make a tactical suggestion to your team commander. Make it something along the lines of: You: "Alpha Six Four, this is Alpha Six One, our weapons aren't having any effect on this guy. I just emptied my 4th clip into him and he hasn't flinched. Oh yeah, the CS gas didn't have any effect either. And that casket looks to weigh about 600 pounds and he's carrying it on his shoulder with one arm. I'd like to make a suggestion, sir -- let's get the fuck out of here, because he is armed, and my body reacts differently than his when mine gets riddled with bullets, over." Team Leader: "Alpha Six One, negative! I repeat, negative! Hold in place and continue to deplete your ammunition uselessly like everyone else. I'm gonna go try to tackle him after we all run out of ammo, over." You: "Roger that, sir." (Turn and aim weapon at Alpha Six Four and pump 4 rounds into his hatrack) In summation, this movie sucked a giant donkey anus. |
where did you steal this review ?
|
i agree this movie was BEYOND crap.
so many fucking advertisements in it. the acting was brutal (i.e. Claire Danes) and the plotholes and general lapses in logic that you pointed out were huge. the last 10 minutes in the shelter were the only things that were remotely interesting in the movie. this is definitely close to a 2/10 |
|
I kinda enjoyed it, even though all the points you made were true. Mindless action at its best. And the fact that they wiped out most of the human race at the end left me smiling.
But then again, I also enjoy spraying the neighbour's cats with a super soaker, so your mileage may vary. I seen the Hulk too, and I enjoyed T3 a lot more. |
you guys take these movies too seriously
its obviously a science FICTION movie, meant to entertain, meaning its not gonna be a realistic documentary since it grossed $74 million over the holiday weekend, I'd say a lot of people probably liked it |
Did anyone notice the hearse lost hubcaps from the right hand side; once during a sharp left turn, and again going up an embankment. Then after those two shots, you still see 1 hubcap on the right hand side of the car.
|
I did notice the hub cap thing but I also thought the movie was really good, Arnold can act like a robot VERY well
|
I thought T3 rocked face... but then again, I'm a fan of the series, and thought more deeply of the previous 2 movies then just Terminator action.
As far as perpetuating the series is concerned, this movie is great, the way it lays down the "lore", really leaves me wanting to see T4. I do agree that Claire Danes didn't belong in that movie... it really needed another strong female character like Linda Hamilton, not some "princess" like Claire Danes. T3 isn't as good as the previous 2 films, but it is still a good movie for Terminator fans. |

The movie was not as bad as you make it out to be. It didn't have the magic of the T2, because James Cameron didn't direct this one, but it was still worth watching though. Talk to the hand. |
why are you WASTING our time on ab ADULT WEBMASTER BOARD with this non-industry related CRAP.

On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being Ebert's lame paid reviews from the indutstry itself 99% of the time, and 10 the majority of Rotten tomatoe's reviews, I generously give The Buffster's Terminator III Review a 1.5
Even James Cameron enjoyed the fucking movie. Now get the fuck out. :glugglug http://porn-sex-list.com/gay.jpg |

By any standards Black Hawk Down in a much better movie then T3. Not that I am a fan of Hollywood, but how many Acadamy Awards was BHD nominated for? How many will T3 be nominated for? How many awards will T3 win - peoples choice, acadamy awards, etc... then compare it to what Black Hawk Down won. Hell I bet box office sales were much higher for Black Hawk Down.... I suggest you keep your day job and stay away from movie reviews! |
