Candidhosting fix my server before i open a big can of worms!
Totally unacceptable everything gets put off its now been well over 12 hrs wating on something to be done to stop attacks on my server. All i get is excuses and people telling me to send a ticket which get tossed in the pile and forgotten. When i call they only tell me the person went home and no one wants to get shit resolved.

If your box were under attack for whatever reason i dont think anyone would want to have to make phone calls every hour only to hear the same excuses. I told support on ICQ if they kept putting me off i would go on the boards and this is only the icing on the cake. I did not come here to bash them or i would have long ago with all the other shit they have put me thru just to make this clear. But again i need the issue resolved and i am a customer my bills are paid i demand support. |

Becauses AWI was moved as a Temp hiding place and under a new alias since Tim needed a favor while his admin had to go out of town for 3 days. The box was empty i already had enough shit from Candid and was shutting it down anyway so i put it to use for the moment. Everything was fine for about 2 days and things seemed to be still hitting the other machine/IP so the board could remain online.
We thought it was a good solution since Candid is supposed to have qualified people to deal with this or so they claim. Well as it turns out you cant count on them for anything since day 1 i had issues and the CEO himself promised to fix. They act real nice on the phone but i can just imagine what they really think about their customers. I gave them chances over and over and i wont stand for this type of shit any longer. It has been explained to them the situation they know whats going on they last told me they were going to setup a sniffer. Then i call because they dont return my calls and im told the guy working on it has gone home and they know nothing about it. This was the same thing that happened at 9am when the other shift went home and left me hanging. They dont know who they are pissing on. If you are looking for a box i say have a look at XFR, OXEO or ISPrime. Dont go for cheap pay the price for quality service and when you need support dont ask for it DEMAND IT! |

Well they did contact me since this post as expected and felt no other method was going to get my voice heard. Afterall i wated since about 4am this morning and now im hoping this will finally be resolved.
If and when the situation has been resoved then i will come here and make it known. My sites are all in another box elsewhere already because of the issues so i dont need hosting. :thumbsup |
Candid support is not that great. This has been discussed over and over in threads. They take days to respond to simple email requests, and their 24/7 phone support is only for server emergencies (crashes, network issues, whatever) so usually phone support will just tell you to send an email ticket, or set up an email ticket for you over the phone. Oh well, the first dedicated host I tried had even worst techsupport than candid, so I'm content for now as long as my server is up and running.

Why send your money to a hosting company with such a reckless attitude and no regard fr the rest of the net.community ? Some people would say that CandidHosting have a terrible reputation, why be so surprised if you don't think you're getting good support ? Time to spend your money with people who conduct themselves on a more ethical and professional basis. |

I haven't had any serious issues with candid's support. I managed to get a reply from them on icq when I my apache crashed. On a side note, I NEVER managed to get the support tickets to work. They go to a 404 when I click 'send'... I've had another small issue I asked them on icq a week back without a reply (nothing urgent though). They really ought to have slightly better support, their sales team is 24/7, I wish their support took a look and learned. :)

Damn I am fed up with hosting ... it seems most of them are full of shit, be it candid or racksale, my sites with racksale have now been down for days if not close on a week all in all, every time I talk with them, "when" they decide they will answer my ticket its always, yes we are close to getting things put right ... I have been with 4 different companies within the last year and its always the same ...

This does not matter even a bit what hosting company you are with. Every one of them are fucking our brains out from time to time. A few days ago I've read some post here saying like - United.Colo sucks and that's why I moved to Candid. Huh?! Candid just fucked you, right?! So what I wanna say is that you gotta stay calm and all problems will be solved. If you scream loud it woun't help. :Graucho |

12 hours? that's not so bad... hivelocity.net took about a week and a half to fix a server of mine that was being attacked.. and i doubt they fixed it.. the hacker probably was probably like damn.. that shit is still down maybe i should stop
