The site cost 15k for everything and we had to develop the system to dial out and check the credit card number and get a response back and then add the user/pass into the system. How times have changed.

We started doing biz in the adult industry in the early 90's running a large adult bbs, then we got pretty big selling adult cdroms.

When we had our first paysite in early 95, we did the same as you escort..

Sites on Sparc 5, would send out billing info to a nt station running icverify, would dial out and check CC, if it was good, would put all info into lotus, then via ntfs I think would send user/pass back to sparc :)

It was all great fun!!

Actually, in 95 I started making a few hundred a month when I put one lame banner on my Ron Jeremy fansite...
