didn't say "best"... i said fast... and it sounded perfect.. hit every note. "Fast" isn't always best, but its still very very impressive. but i wouldn't doubt it if he'd be rated up there as the best. definately the fastest.

He's fast, no doubt, but a lot of that "speed for the sake of speed" playing really sounds like crap. About 1/2 of that song kicked a fair amount of ass and 1/2 I could do without.

While fast can be cool, quality is king. My list:

speed/thrash metal was never about mullets. dont get me wrong, I love mullets as much as the next guy. But us thrash and speed metal kids were never mullet types. We are the forefathers of black and death metal... no mullets.

there are some amazingly fast guitar players in bluegrass and rockabilly too...

I went and saw Brian Setzer a couple months ago and he can play fast as hell....his solos were amazing...I almost left a wet spot in the chair.....
