Seems like the bank would be opening itself up for some litigation, unless they lied or something on the account form where you indicate what type of business it is...

Not sure though...

Yes they can decide which clients that they do or do not want to bank with. I have heard of other banks in the past doing the same thing.

EscortBiz 05-13-2003 01:34 PM

banks can do things using different loop holes.

but I know some inside stuff about silvercash and if I was an affiliate I would not worry at all

Kimmykim 05-13-2003 01:36 PM

B of A has done this before to other companies over the years. They do business with some people in this industry but not with others, almost on a branch by branch basis.

There's nothing the Silvercash crew could have done to prevent this, it's a shame it had to happen to anyone, much less those guys.

Brad Mitchell 05-13-2003 01:37 PM

Most likely it was a merchant account linked to that bank that "went bad" and they had to switch banks because they went in to hold or debit the funds. Just a guess, I think anyone would do the same thing in this type of scenario.

I say get the email addresses of the people at the bank and send them this oldie but a goodie link...

Banks can do just about any thing they want. You can sue them, you might or might not win. I had a customer a few years ago that borrowed money ( from Wells Fargo) built a big Roller Mill (Grain business) one day he gets a notice from them they called his note. They decided they didn't want to be in that business any longer. He had never been late or anything. He sue and won.

Tala 05-13-2003 01:50 PM

At least SC is paying the checks that bounced. Fuck B of A.

Corporate hypocrisy....

BluMedia 05-13-2003 02:26 PM

Isn't there a ton of sponsors using Bank Of America?

Raven 05-13-2003 02:33 PM

I just received a check from Shaw Internet, drawn from B of A.

Wouldn't Silver Cash have something on their site about this?

And...I'm feeling left out. I didn't get an email.

And, wouldn't the check already have bounced by now?

Raven is confused now.

Yea, I got a letter a few weeks ago stating that they are closing my account because they have the right to stop doing biz with anyone at anytime and that was it. I then called BofA and got a major run around and it took some serious complaining and phone calls before I finally got someone to tell me the reason they are closing the account is because of the nature of the biz we are in. What a joke! The next day I found out they closed my other biz account and my personal account. So basically I had very little time to create 3 new bank account. Now I have huge balances maintained at all times in these accounts in order to payout every week. I have also been with BofA since 87. My mom and sister both worked for the bank for years and this is how I was treated. Pretty amazing to me.

I suggest you all move away from them if you can before they close you down one day.

I mean comon, should they quit doing biz with every hotel chain that offers movies in the rooms, or every liquor store owner at every stip mall in the U.S. for magazines, how about the airlines who fly over the tape used to make VCR tapes that later are sold with porn on them. I mean when does it stop? This is a joke and not fair. Maybe they should shut down the saw mills bank accounts that make the paper that playboy uses to print their magazines.. lol

Anyways all is good over here and only a few of you who waited more then a few weeks to deposit your checks will be affected. Please contact us asap and we can reissue new checks or send you pay pals

Thanks, Mike.

I'm going to move my corporate account today.

quiet 05-13-2003 03:11 PM

i've heard similar stories about b of a in the past...

My GTZ 05-13-2003 03:17 PM

I didn't get the e-mail either, but at least now I know.

sextoyking 05-13-2003 03:20 PM

Mike,

that just plain sucks bro. This isn't the first time I have heard about BofA doing this..

Np's under clinton, but bush just brings everything to shit. I like your line about paper mills, vhs, etc. You never know how things might turn out :(

Rochard 05-13-2003 03:27 PM

I fail to understand why BofA refuses to do business with you. What we do is not a reflection on them. BofA does not produce porn in any shape or form; They are a bank and that's that.

If I remember correctly there was a newspaper article last year saying that General Motors made the most amount of money off of porn because of their investments in the hotel industry. Perhaps I should write to BofA and complain that every time they fund a loan for a GM car they are supporting porn.

sextoyking 05-13-2003 03:34 PM

Richard,

Good point about GM. Yes in a way that was all true. From there stake in Hotels, Directv, Etc. they were making big #'s from adult movies, etc.

Another sad day in America. I just feel bad for Mike, shit not like he brang this on himself.

rooster 05-13-2003 03:36 PM

I use to be a Marketing Director for First USA (A Bank One Company) a few years back. I use to hear horror stories about Bank of America. What I found out it was first USA that was causing them a bad name. I always had the impression they weren't concern with an individuals banking affairs. They are making it harder and harder to do busines here in the states. And we wonder why so many companies go off shore.

Most banks don't like to do business with individuals in the adult industry. I use Chase, I think it's the best bank in the world. Hell that's where Noriega banked, why shouldn't I.

RichC 05-13-2003 03:47 PM

Good to see you were on it Mike.

You would think a bank would treat cash from this biz the same as any other legitmate biz. Ours is just as green as anyone elses :disgust

Mike AI 05-13-2003 03:59 PM

Hmmm I wonder if there is more to this....

Seems strange a bank that works with terrorists and international money laundrers would have a problem with porn.

Hypocrites.

directfiesta 05-13-2003 04:07 PM

Porn is bad ... B of A prefers "Worldcom" or "Arthur Andersen" as clients. Those are real nice guys.

They also are in the fucking business but them it is "moral" : they fuck people out of their savings with the complicity of the bank that cashes in on the fees....

LA Mike 05-13-2003 04:20 PM

MikeAI: I totally agree with you there. Its kinda of a joke. It makes me wonder if maybe they got a spam mail with one of our sites on it or something and someone with some pull got upset but you never know.

Qualitythumbs: You're welcome :)

Yea, I think we all agree that its bullshit and porn is behind half the companies our there in one way or another. Everything is fine over here but If any of you still use BofA I would highly suggest you move banks at your convience before they do it for you

BluMedia 05-13-2003 04:24 PM

Man that is complete bullshit, are you guys going to sue them?

LA Mike 05-13-2003 04:30 PM

I think that we could on the basis that we are not being treated fairly compared to all the other companies doing the same thing or simular things. But I dont believe its in my best interest to go after them at this point.

I'll just rely on carma this time :)

damn porn supporters, you're all going to hell!

Hooper 05-13-2003 04:49 PM

hehehe.. i think we need to start calling you LA "Buddhist Monk" Mike ;-)

I've heard nightmare stories about b of a. we use them.. though after this i'm not sure for how long.. i imagine they must know that we cash price communications checks like clockwork.

lawked 05-13-2003 04:53 PM

:thumbsup I love how people are still running the US Economy
into the ground. Take porn off the net and see how long
the internet stays around :)

Fuck your dollar is falling bigtime, it's not time for fucking
with successful people, it's time to make some money.

I really hope Bush doesn't get back in. You'll need your
ass scanned before you board any flight. (j/k).

Good luck with your new account..
