I just bought this a couple of weeks ago.

I'm not finding an update notification in my /wp-admin/plugins.php

This is not an update.
This is version 6.0 and requires a license per domain.
This was required to prevent fraud and provide better support.

Every other software I own has a price for new users, and a price for existing users from the existing version to the new version.

So every time you add new Cam Sites, we have to purchase over again?

Yes, I will handle any issue anyone may have with older versions.

Sometimes policies have to change because of many reasons.
Providing support and upgrades under the previous model was not sustainable.
Times have changed and it's part of being realistic about what I'm able to provide and maintain.

I am concerned that in those few days, without any official launch, I have had over 20,000 hits.

Already a lot of "comments" posted, without any relevant reference to the contents of the page, itself. Like the one today from a guy(?) in .ru with a bitcoins domain name!

On another WP package I installed relatively around the same time, without any official launch, 800 hits.

The subject of spam comes to mind. There is no active spam filter on either.

How did 20,000 happen? vs 800? Not that I wouldn't mind 20,000 real visitors! And not have to do anything to attract them!

And not even "hits" on the Cam site statistics.

I bought and emailed FTP info. Forget if you need SQL as well. Will have to get that password tomorrow. It is midnight here in Prague.

I'm going to keep the v4 sites as is, and make new for the v6. Including new Themes!

Looking for advice on Velvet Theme:
Anybody do any customizations? Or is there a planned fix for the bottom row is always short 1 or 2 thumbs (depending on screen width). Should be as many as the rows above.

Anybody customize to make clicks on the Thumbs be target=_blank? I like to keep my mainpage on the user's desktop as they click to open a link. Because once they've clicked, they may keep clicking forward, and never come back!
