we feed our dog people food, several vets recommended us to do so. organic ground bison, organic vegetable like carrots and peas, and occasionally rice with liver/kidneys mixed in, home cooked especial for our little guy. we rotate out organic chicken for the bison sometimes.

it's healthy, magic for our dog, and scrumptious.

I cook for my dog too. He gets an omelette with cheese rice, veggies and 1 eggshell for calcium. He loves it. Then he has Purina One Smartblend for lunch, that also sits out the rest the day in case he gets hungry. At dinner time he has the heathy part of anything I fix, the meats & veg ( no breads, pastas, sweets etc. )

The only problem is he begs for what I'm eating, even though he's already eaten , I don't like that. So maybe it's smart they just get dog food then they never beg because they don't know what they're missing.

Why would I trust some random dog food company with my dog's health? Convenience is the only reason. Pouring a pile of kibble in a bowl is much easier than sourcing healthy quality ingredients and cooking them. Our dog is a part of our family, we take his health just as importantly as any one's in our family.

I kind of feel the same way. I'm on the fence and only and pro the dog food because of the vitamins and minerals added but you can never know for sure if they are and a lot of the dog food is made in China. And one of my previous dogs got sick we had to go to the vet because of dog treats from Costco that were poisoned in China by using the wrong ingredient.
