If someone feels comfortable calling someone else at 2:am it's because there is some form of bond between the two.
If you live 2k away from him, does that mean you live that far away from your GF too?
If so, then she's chatting it up with him (if nothing more).
If she feels she needs to talk and its not with you about something as personal/emotional as her dad passing away then there is something you are both not attaining in your relationship. When a woman turns to another man for emotional support,(even if it's genuine) it's not a good sign. If she hides it, it's not any better.
