Despite what UN and local idiots say, Iraq had it...
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. forces near Baghdad found a weapons cache of around 20 medium-range missiles equipped with potent chemical weapons, the U.S. news station National Public Radio reported on Monday.
NPR, which attributed the report to a top official with the 1st Marine Division, said the rockets, BM-21 missiles, were equipped with sarin and mustard gas and were "ready to fire." It quoted the source as saying new U.S. intelligence data showed the chemicals were "not just trace elements." It said the cache was discovered by Marines with the 101st Airborne Division, which was following up behind the Army after it seized Baghdad's international airport. U.S. Central Command headquarters in Qatar had no immediate comment. The United States and Britain launched the war against Iraq to rid the country of weapons of mass destruction. Iraq denies having such weapons. |
Damn right they have them.
If not in Iraq then they have moved them to Syria prior to the invasion. |

they will be next and please note: Syria has no oil ;-))) |
This mean we get to tell France "Fuck You!"???

;-)))) |
Now they say preliminary tests confirm it.. is that a gun I see starting to smoke?? :Graucho
|
They've also found 14 barrels of Sarin, Tabul, and Lewisite at another separate location, northeast of Karbala at a supposed "pesticide plant". Soldiers there have broken out in skin rashes and complained of nausea, and have been put through decontamination showers.
Tommy Franks was just on MSNBC saying they're investigating "several sites" right now, and as soon as they're done with the testing they'll make the reports available. |

Iraq. 12/24. "It seems they are making an effort - Hans Blix. 2/7 "The inspectors are getting results." - Dominique de Villepin. 2/28 |

http://www.abc.net.au/news/justin/na...apr2003-13.htm [Posted 20 minutes ago] Suspected WMD site in Iraq turns out to contain pesticide A facility near Baghdad that a US officer had said might finally be "smoking gun" evidence of Iraqi chemical weapons production turned out to contain pesticide, not sarin gas as feared. A military intelligence officer for the US 101st Airborne Division's aviation brigade, Captain Adam Mastrianni, told AFP news agency that comprehensive tests determined the presence of the pesticide compounds. Initial tests had reportedly detected traces of sarin - a powerful toxin that quickly affects the nervous system - after US soldiers guarding the facility near Hindiyah, 100 kilometres south of Baghdad, fell ill. Captain Mastrianni said a "theatre-level chemical testing team" made up of biologists and chemists had finally disproved the preliminary field tests results and established that pesticide was the substance involved. He said that sick soldiers, who had become nauseous, dizzy and developed skin blotches, had all recovered. The turnaround was an embarrassment for the US forces in the region, which had been quick to say that they thought they had finally found the proof they have been actively looking for that Iraq was hiding weapons of mass destruction. A spokesman for the US army's 3rd Infantry Division, Major Ross Coffman, had told journalists at Baghdad's airport that the site "could be a smoking gun". "We are talking about finding a site of possible weapons of mass destruction," he said. The fact that the coalition forces have come up with no clear evidence of WMD after capturing much of Iraq in 19 days of fighting has raised questions over the war's justification. |
people, people, why don't you trust Iraquis, UN, French, Russians, Blix?
only OLD FARTS like me fall for US propaganda machine, all US media is owned by Jews and KKK, you should know it by now... I trust more to 18 years old russian-canadians over Yale and Harward graduates... USA invaded Iraq because we just were envious of their acient art of making Saddam statues! USA forces came to steal them all and put them all over Washington for the world to envy! I hate fuckin' America, peopole of the world, unite and REFUSE taking american help and $$!!! Insist on Iraqi dinnars from your sponsors! |

They built the nuclear reactor for Iraqies which Israelies bombed (French admited it had nuclear production capabilities but only RECENTLY, thus making the Israeli action unnesesarry, because back in the day they couldn't know that....without OFFICIAL French admittance) My heart bleeds for French, Russian and German peoiple who'll never see a dime from the loans they made to Peaceful Iraq... let's organise webmasters to start making collections for our poor former allies... I'll personally donate $10 to restore the nuclear reactor in Iraq... |

We can't be talking about the same report here. Who loads pesticides into missiles that are ready to fire? The retraction doesn't apply to the bigger claim of chemical weapons, so we still have a smoking gun.

I don't get along with your kind, my dual Iraq/Canada/France citizenship doesn't allow me to mingle with known terrorist countries like US |
Like I said before, nothing will satisfy the US-haters. Now, that we've found MPDs, the excuses will simply spin off into new directions. It's sad and comical at the same time. Don't ever underestimate the power of an inferiority complex.

This thread is hilarious.
Anti-war people were never saying, "Saddam is telling the truth. He has no WMD". When did a single anti-war person EVER say that? When? When? Everyone knew that Iraq was bound to have something lying around since U.S. companies have been selling weapons grade material to Iraq for decades. What most people around the world were saying is that if the world is so concerned about Saddam's weapons ,that may or may not be in violation of UN resolutions, then the UN and NOT the U.S. should follow through with inspections - a non violent method that WAS WORKING. When they found those Al-Samoud missiles, the Iraqi's started destroying them under UN observation. If the U.N. found a few warheads stuffed with pesticides, they would have destroyed those too. Instead, the US went to war to grab oil and spread its hegenomy. THAT is what people around the world have been protesting about. A major side point to all these protests is to underscore American hypocracy. The US is the leading manufacturer of WMD, including some pretty nasty biological agents. The US has used these weapons en massse and on non-combatants to boot - we doused Cambodia with Sarin and practically defoliated Vietnam with Agent Orange. Millions of innocent villagers were decimated. We are the only country in the world to have used nuclear weapons ON CIVILIAN TARGETS. Say what you want about Hiroshima but Nagasaki can never be justified by any logic whatsoever. We have been bombing someone somewhere in the world every year for the last 60 years. The USA has waged perpetual war every year for the last 60 years!!! Has Canada done this? Has France? Have other industrialized nations? During that time we have armed and directly supported the most brutal dictators of the 20th century: The Shah of Iran, Marcos, Noriega, Duvalier, Saddam, Pinochet...the list is endless. We go to war and defy the UN in order to make another country "obey UN resolutions". Meanwhile, we support Israel which has violated three times as many UN resolutions as Iraq. The hypocracy is endless. Absolutely endless! Sad but true: It is the U.S. that has become the greatest threat to world peace. And this is not coming from a "US hater". It is coming from a patriotic American who wants to see his country restore its values to those it was founded on!!! :thumbsup |

****************************************** exactly!@!!!! if I had power, I'd be start bombing Israel tomorrow!!!! West Bank and Gaza strip is full of Israelies, let's kill thewm all first! Long live Cretin and Canadain Government! |
Has Canada done this? Has France?
**************************************** Nevaaahhh!!!!! Canada doesn't have nuclear weapons..c'mon, they don't even have right color uniforms!!! and France helped Iraq building nuclear plant capable of producing the enriched uranium ONLY to help them protect themselves from North Korea!!!! I love France, I love Canada, down with Yankees bloody regime, mark my word, by the year 3001 even historians won't know what USA was....while French Canadies peace loving people will inherit the Earth. Long Live Saddam! if he is dead, I'll love my martyr even more! |
