Best Country to Live in Besides the US?

What's your opinion and why?

thanks....

InsaneMidget 03-26-2003 06:42 PM

Canada, not because I live here, just because it's a fact. I would never live in the U.S.

LadyMischief 03-26-2003 06:43 PM

Canada is pretty cool. Public healthcare, moderately less violence, that kind of thing.. it adds up, especially when you have kids.

TheJimmy 03-26-2003 06:46 PM

Is there anywhere in Canada that is warm in the summer though?

ie 80s-90s F...

I personally love Vancouver but the woman thinks it'd be toooooooo cold there for her...

Joe Sixpack 03-26-2003 06:46 PM

Australia.

We live in Paradise... and we don't share borders with any other nation.

Mr. Jim 03-26-2003 06:51 PM

Syria.....with all of the wonderful people who warmly embrace western culture and the Miami like night life.

interior BC is the warmest area of Canada (in the spring/summer/fall). absolutely beautiful and clean, surrounded by mountains, rivers and lakes. it does get cold in the winter, but if you ski or snowboard - paradise.

UH FUCK YES. Where I live is in the fooking woods, yet I've seen it as hot as 110 here in the summer. SOme places on the prairies can go even higher. Toronto is pretty moderate year round, even in the winter it doesn't really get SUPER cold there.. And umm..Vancouver is lucky to get snow, it stays quite nice there... My suggestion to you is this, visit sometime, during the summer.... See where you like.. I'll give you a few Canadian views though to give you an idea of what you're missing..

Austrailia for me now, but would like to retire to a peaceful, tourist free, Greek island.

Ontario and Quebec have very cold winter and very hot summer... Last year, July and august had a daytime average of 81F...

THE FIRST NATION OF HOCKEY!

----------------------------------------------

It is tragic that some of the great Canadian Hockey Clubs are struggling financially....speaking inparticular of Ottawa....best team in the league points wise.

It would be great to see a Canadian Team go to the cup this year......they will no doubt get torn apart by the Red Wings but hey getting to the dance is whats important.

Martin 03-26-2003 07:03 PM

Canada if you like cold snowy winters, hot ass summers with wicked mosquitoes, drinking beers and hockey!! I wouldn't trade it for anything:glugglug

I love a good winter, but the woman is a fan of the 80-90 degree heat as much of the year as possible...I show her something like this and she's like HELL NO...

http://www.weather.com/outlook/trave...nthly/CAXX0518

^^^ averages for temperature in Vancouver, shows never above 80F....

what's another good city to lookup for average temperatures up there in BC?

Trolleater 03-26-2003 07:06 PM

as far as places in Canada go...Nova Scotia is great too....pretty mush the same type of climate as BC...and one of the most visited places in the world my tourists each year. The scenery is beautiful.

If Israel's climate of hate would decrease I'd love it there I'm sure, if Mexico would allow foreigners to own property near the beach I'd be game....

I guess it's time to get some l00t and just move to Greece :)

TheJimmy 03-26-2003 07:17 PM

Another place/region I was looking at was S. America, but Argentina seems a tad unstable atm....Brazil a bit on the humid side all year long....

anyone from down south that has some recommendations?

twistyneck 03-26-2003 07:19 PM

Ecuador. No particular reason.

Vancouver is a paradise...

No snow all fucking winter long!! Woohooo! There is snow but it is only on the mountains not on the roads or city. It's always like +15 here all winter. Plus we're surrounded by mountains, and an incredible ocean. The people here are totally laid back and there are tons of hotties. Free healthcare, wicked beer, no draft what could be better!!!

Plus you get $1500 Canuck for every $1000 US cheque you cash :)

Can't beat that man!

DH

Thanks! I enjoyed taking them, too. The picture with the big blue sky is my front yard, feel free to come camp in it any time you like hehe. The rest well, the mountains will always be in my heart (I'm from Calgary and I miss seeing them) but Ontario is lovely too. B. C. is amazing as well.. it's definitely at least worth the visit. :)

Gloomy? With skies like that? Nooo way... I (the photographer in question) don't take pictures of gloom often, but when I do, it's pretty gloom, damn you! hehe. Now be nice before I hunt you down and whip out the rubber farm animal collection on ya. Rowr.

If you could combine Winnipeg's low cost of living/housing with Vancouver's weather/location you'd have the ultimate paradise.

psyko514 03-26-2003 08:29 PM

there's reason why the UN named Canada the best place to live about a kajillion times in a row...

...not that you americans listen to the UN ;)

I would choose Australia (especially Sydney) or Canada (specifically Vancouver)

Other awesome countries include:

Netherlands
New Zealand
Ireland
UK
