Trump Is Really Capitalising On Public Fear
Is that a good thing?
My theory is that he's collecting all the (formerly non-voting) racists. I think killing a terrorists family is a bit extreme. It very much goes against the rule of law and it's basically taking things in the wrong direction. Terrorists usually are doing something their families wont approve of. Donald Trump on terrorists: 'Take out their families' - CNNPolitics.com You're also going to create even more enemies of the US state, as if it doesn't have enough. |
You must have never been in the mob/mafia.
|
Sounds to me like the media and the RNC are trying to get people to "fear" Trump more than anything else.
Would it be effective to tell terrorists that if they commit an act of terrorism against the U.S.A. that we will not only find them and kill them but we will kill their wife in whatever shithole country they're in too? I don't know. I'm not for doing it. Is that somehow "fear" on the part of Americans? Doesn't sound like it. Sounds like people getting fed up with Islamic terrorist's bullshit. But hey, if you think people are "scared" because they are frustrated by the govt.'s ineffectiveness to stop that shit...then so be it. |
Immoral...coming from this guy laughable.
Israeli expert: Donald Trump's call to kill terrorists' families immoral, ineffective - CNNPolitics.com To the OP, where would the killing stop? Not just the suicide bomber and his family but those who finance him? Those that create his group to begin with? Thats what the media is afraid of, politicians are afraid of. If Trump's idea catches on a whole lotta people will have to watch their backs. From McCain to Obama to all the Bush family scumbags ad infinitum. Problem is the West is intimately involved with many terror groups, from the middle east, south and central america, se asia...everywhere. How far up the food chain does one go to eliminate a family? |
One thing Trump doesn't seem to understand is that eventually he will have to keep all of his promises. In the event he wins he had better build a damn wall, it had better be better than the Great Wall Of China, and it had better not cost us a damn dime because Mexico had better pay for it.

I think Rochard even see's the writing on the wall. Trump will be our next President. Hilary has too much baggage. |

The facade of this 2 party system has always been just an "us" vs. "them" divisive tool used and exploited by those in power. Sure, they put on a little play every 4 years to perpetuate the illusion that you, as an individual actually have anything to do with the government when nothing could be further from the truth. So now Trump...already having a firm place in the public's mind as a reality "star" will be running a reality show that they can all seem to play a part in! Warhol said it long ago that in the future everyone will be famous for 15 minutes...well, with reality TV making common every day people instant celebrities and social media giving anyone the ability to voice any mundane drivel that enters their vacant skulls only makes it easier for the illusion that you matter at all to be stronger. It's all an illusion folks - :thumbsup |

You know Trump was already famous long before the reality show.
The reason "The Apprentice" was popular was because Trump was already a big celebrity in his own right. Does being a celebrity automatically disqualify a person from being President? And it's somehow not as "presidential" as being a community organizer and 1st term Jr. Senator from Illinois? I swear I have never seen so many people claiming that they prefer a bunch of lawyers (the lowest people in the world) to be the only people "qualified" to run our country. |
I think he is tapping into a segment that believes what he is saying and has for a long time. These days it is politically incorrect to say, "I think we should block Muslims from coming to the US and we should wipe them off the map." There are, however, a lot of people that believe it and they are happy that Trump is saying it.
So I don't think it is so much fear-mongering as tapping into those with a more primal thought on how to deal with our problems. |

Trump thinks he can shut off the internet. :1orglaugh
Oh, and better hope that cousin you haven't talked to in years doesn't get brainwashed and go join ISIS or Trump will send a drone to kill your ass. Only a special kind of stupid supports Trump. |
why don't you finally round up everyone that is not blonde, blue eyed and at least 6ft and shoot them? seems like you're just dragging it out...

I have no doubt that if Trump was President and started exterminating Muslims a percentage of Trump supporters would be ok with it. |

The sons of the George C. Wallace voters have a new champion -- Donald J. Trump
"Nothing is so much to be feared as fear" ... Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862) But hey, let's kill the terrorists' families and confiscate the wealth of those robber-barons with new taxation -- that is the bag of shit that they are selling today -- it's ''us or them'' ... I for one ain't buying it :upsidedow |

Trump is making outlandish statements to get attention. He is writing checks that he cannot cash. He is making promises he can never, ever keep. I would love for us to build a wall - A huge wall, backed up with a huge military presence, staffed 24/7, just like the fucking Berlin wall. And I would love for someone else to pay for it all. But I know that's not going to happen. Even if it does, it will never work - they will either go under it, over it, and right through it. This is big talk about things that will never happen. Trump doesn't understand that he will be held accountable for every promise he makes. This is not behind closed doors in some business meeting where he can make a promise or commitment and then walk away from it without anyone noticing. This is a very public promise he has made, and when he gets to the White House he'll quickly discover he cannot just build a wall - Government just doesn't work that way. |
leave it to rochard to make shit up, like Trump has promised anything.
and leave it to the german to make a ridiculous nazi analogy. |
heh - we have the most experience with that and recognize the early signs...
|
riiiiiiiight. and your comment is simply meant to help Americans see "the signs".
|
no - my comment is a sarcastic exaggeration
but next time i'll add a [/sarcasm] so that nobody gets confused |
oh i got the sarcasm. sarcastic exaggerations about Trump turning the USA into the 3rd reich aren't clever.
|
stop wasting time talking about trump. the GOP will never let him be their man for pres. trump is fun to watch and see what he'll say/do next but he is becoming more and more a parody of himself. people say they like trump, they'll vote for trump but i bet the majority people when the time comes wouldn't want him to represent the united states and what the world views as the stereotypical ignorant american view.
|
that is your opinion, mine differs
|
of course, and i know your opinion of nazi slurs, oops, i mean exaggerated sarcasm, against modern day Germany isn't very high.
|
Donald Trump set himself up for the Nazi simile. Racists and bigots are a very vocal bunch and Trump got what he asked for: free publicity. Then he dug his heels in on the banning of visa entrance to the USA of a religious group -- there is no mistake in his intent. It's absolutely ludicrous to have a Muslim (or any religious belief) test for a visa applicant from the UK, France or any country.
If Trump was serious about possible visa issues regarding terrorism Trump would have called for a visa moratorium for all countries with allowances made for known persons; diplomats and other vetted exceptions. This whole matter is a bag of shit -- a tragic publicity stunt that has angered world opinion against the USA. Nothing is gained other than pandering to bigots. If this is Trump's idea of "Making America Great" he has failed miserably. |
sorry, i am too stupid, i don't even understand that
am I a Nazi now? cause then you need to discuss that with MetaMan and mineistaken cause they think i am a bleeding heart weak liberal you guys get me all confused, i am having an identity crisis now |
oy vey. no, i'll rephrase it for you. you don't react well when others around here make insults comparing modern day germany to naziism, as you point out referencing other GFYers who you think have done so.
yet it's OK for you to make nazi insults about Americans. |

wait, so the world loved us up until Trump? :1orglaugh and nazi logic makes sense? :1orglaugh come on Barry. |
i call it how i see it

i didn't know they made you the official speaker - thanks for letting me know

it doesn't take an official designation to read your constant complaints and jabs and overall low opinion of GFY and GFYers. except when your clamoring for us to vote for you for a GFY award.
